MLP: A Clever and Daring Misadventure

    "Hey Twilight!" Rainbow Dash greets her best friend and egghead, landing right next to her, "Oh! I mean, Good Morning, your Highness!" Remembering that there is a crowd of pedestrians all around, the Wonderbolt Captain shows the proper respect to the one who rules this kingdom.

    "Good Morning, Rainbow Dash." The lovely alicorn princess replies to her best friend and flying buddy, and giggles a little after hearing her two different forms of greetings, "I don't mind you calling my by my first name...but I thank you for referring to me as "Your Highness", especially in front of all my loyal subjects."

    "Anytime...Egghead~"

    With but a roll of her eyes and a smile to go with it, Twilight gives her most loyal friend and small hug...then turns her attention back to the crowd of pedestrians and guards that have gathered around the bank.

    "Soooooo...what is going on here, Princess Twilight?" The curious cyan coated mare asks, hoping her very intelligent friend can shed some light onto all this.

    "Well...turns out there was a robbery last night here at the bank...and so far we have been unable to determine who was responsible...." Twilight explains what she knows from what was brought to her.

    "Really? I thought...this bank was very secure?!" The confused and somewhat worried pegasai questions, "I mean...what was stolen? My husband and I have a bank account here!"

    "It's alright, Rainbow." Twilight gently calms her friend down to the best of her ability, "Stay calm. Only the majority of gems kept here were stolen. No bits."

    "Thank Celestia...." Wiping the sweat from her brow, Rainbow feels relieved that her account...which is stocked with bits...is safe, "...but why did the thief just take the gems and not the coins? I mean...it doesn't make sense."

    "You and I are on the same page...." Twilight admits, pointing to the five bank security guards sitting on the sidewalk, "...because these guards each claim that one of their own attacked and knocked them out. I don't know what to make of it...."

    "Yeah...I don't understand either. You're saying that...each one of these guards...said their own attack them? As in, that changeling guard there said the zebra guard knocked her out, and the zebra claims the same?" Rainbow rubs her head, unsure how to figure this out, "Ugh...my brain hurts...."

    "Mine too...." Twilight shakes it off, then magically levitates the papers before her...which are a combination of pictures, statements, and the card keys the guards carried, "According to everything gathered from the cameras, before they were shut off, the culprits were...each and every one of them."

    


    "WHAT?!" Rainbow is having trouble believing that, "But you just said they were all knocked out...so...how can they all be responsible if-"

    "That's just it, Rainbow!" Twilight interrupts her friend in order to give the reason, "It doesn't make sense...unless...unless the one responsible has the ability to change forms and deceive everypony working here last night."

    "Change forms? As in...this was done by a changeling?" Rainbow guess, then turns to the changeling mare guard sitting on the side walk, "As in her?"

    "I don't know. According to the pictures taken, the changeling guard was knocked out along with the others...."

    "So...it might have been another changeling?"

    Twilight gives a mere shrug, "Could be...but we won't go pointing hooves at all the changelings; We don't want to upset them nor the Queen. I mean, the changelings have done many wrongs in the past...but that is behind them now. So...if this is a rogue changeling, we will have to find out. But if it is somepony else...."

    "Who else has the ability to shapechange...other than a changeling, Twilight?" Rainbow questions that logic; She actually has a good thought in her mind for once, "I mean, what kind of pony can do that?"

    "Not sure, Rainbow." Twilight gives a mere shrug, with not a clue in her mind to an answer that would make sense, "So far, only us alicorn princesses have such power to change forms, but we rarely use this. It might be...."

    "Might be what?"

    "It could be some pony or other creature that has the power to change forms and such."

    "Not sure about that one...." Rainbow cannot fathom such an individual with such unique magic or power, "...but for somepony to rob a bank without tripping any alarms, knocking out all the guards, getting away with a lot of gems, and leaving us confused like this: This is a mystery worth solving...as Daring Do would say!"

    Twilight giggles and agrees with her best friend, who is as much a Daring Do fan as she, "You're right...and I hope once we clear this up, we can still make it to the library for the presentation...and more."

    "Me too!"

    After an hour of walking down the main road out of Tambelon City to the eastern area of the island, Daring Do and Clever Wits take a turn off the great gravel pathway and onto a side path that leads into the nearby forest...which is more of a jungle due to the different trees and creatures that live within compared to the rest of the island.

    The two siblings walk together, and Daring Do feels the need to ask something important, "Um...Clever?"

    "Yes, Sis?"

    "Were you ever mad at me for following my own dream of becoming a writer and adventurer, while you joined the Agency to track down thieves?" Darling Do tips her hat, thinking she has burdened her brother with something like this.

    "What do you mean?"

    "Well...I guess what I am asking is: Are you happy with the path you chose?"

    Clever comes to a complete stop and gives Daring Do a warm hug, "Sister...I chose that line of work, because the Agency saw my potential...and it is perfect in every way I know: I travel the world...exploring new lands and studying the natural environment...along with tracking any troubles and criminals that might be out there, which include our target Charade."

    Daring Do feels so relieved and happy that her younger brother is doing well for himself, and returns the hug with her own...showing her love for him, "I am...so happy for you, Clever. I was always worried that you were burdened with tracking down Charade, while I followed my dream. But...it is good to know you enjoy the work you do now."

    "Thank you, big sister. You were always one to worry about me, but fear not. I am happy with what I do...and am glad to be going on a whole new adventure with you after what seems like forever since our last." The wise and intelligent stallion breaks the hug gently and smiles upon the sister he loves, "So...what say we make this adventure a fun one...and enjoy it?"

    "Sounds like a good idea to me! Let's get moving!!" Daring Do soars high into the sky and is ready to take on this new adventure...and the villain at the end that she and her brother hope to stop once and for all.




    "Who is there?!" Clever turns around when he hears a noise from the bushes nearby, "Not sure if you are a jungle creature or somepony else...but you better come on out!"

    Noticing her brother shout at a slightly shaking bush of green, Daring dashes on down and pounces on the bush, tackling whatever it is that is inside there.

    "Wait, sis!" Clever cries out, "Maybe we should see what is in there before we go and attack it?!"

    "Already found what it is...." Daring Do says through her teeth, which seem to be biting down on something blue.

    "What is it?"

    "Looks like somepony was following us...." The yellow coated pegasus with the compass cutie mark reveals, pulling out a little blue colt with her teeth, "...who looks like dat little colt from de lidrey."

    "Lemme go! Lemme go!!" The caught little pegasus named Gust struggles as he hands upside down from his tail, that Daring Do holds tight in her mouth, "Put me down!!"

    "Oh!" Clever nods and recalls the young foal that was behind him from the line, "What is your name?" He asks of the stubborn and struggling little pony.

    Unable to escape, Gust sighs and just hangs there...with his sights at the stallion who is upside down to him, "My name...is Gust. I just...well...."

    "You followed us from de library...didnt chu?" Daring questions the colt, "Does your nother know you are here?"

    "What...?" Gust cannot understand Daring with his tail in her mouth.

    "Let me do the talking, sis...since you seem to have your mouth full at the moment," Clever insists, chuckling at the notion of the young colt's tail in her mouth.

    Gust laughs along with Clever's funny mention, which only causes Daring Do to roll her eyes, "Fine...."

    "Now...young colt...does your mother know you are here?" Clever asks the question again, with a clearer voice.

    "My...mother is Rainbow Dash...and I...well...I followed you guys since A.K.- I mean, Daring Do, left before I could get her autograph; I was waiting for a long time for her to sign my favorite "Daring Do" book!" Gust mentions and starts to feel a little dizzy, "Then...I followed you to the gardens...and heard you guys talking...then followed...you...here...."

    Daring Do releases Gust and he falls onto the ground with a thud, "Rainbow Dash?! You are her son?" The disbelieving mare shakes her head and cannot imagine this to be possible, "Wow...last time I saw you, you were but a little bundle of fuss. You sure have grown."

    "Thank you...Hey!...I was not a bundle of fuss!!" Gust snaps at his favorite hero, other than his parents, and finds that uncalled for, "My mommy always said I was tough and never whined about anything!"

    "Heh, not from my last visit to Tambelon...which was when Rainbow Dash and her husband Soarin came to my book signing." Daring Do giggles, "You were crying while they waited in line...and everypony in the library was so annoyed that they could not stay for long, even after I signed their books." 

    "...." Gust says nothing and blushes, embarrassed to know this...if it is true or not.

    "Oh stop teasing him, sis...." Clever tries his best to hold in his chuckle, finding this little one to be a big crybaby when his sister first came to Tambelon years ago, "Well, it is nice to meet you Gust...and while i have to say that you following us out here this far as not the best idea, we cannot let you go back alone...nor can we take you back since we are so close to the temple."

    "Yeah...." Daring Do admits, "I guess you can come with us...but do as we say and keep up. Got it?"

    "Yes, Ma'am!" Gust salutes the way a Wonderbolt does, and follows close beside the stallion and mare...whom he hopes to ask plenty about themselves and more later on.

    "Hey Everypony!" Clever returns from the lake after the guards finished their search.

    "Please tell me you found him...." Daring Do hopes with all her heart, wanting her brother imprisoned for good.

    "No..." Clever sadly shakes his head, "They found nothing. He could not have teleported out since we would have seen it...but they did find a small underwater passage that no doubt leads out of the lake to somewhere else. The guards say it is too small for any normal pony to fit through."

    "Hmph. Charade is anything but normal. Like us, we siblings share a unique gift...which includes getting out of nearly anything...even when it seems impossible." Daring Do admits, but remains tall land strong, "But we will get him next time! Right, brother?!"

    "Right!" Clever Wits smiles and gives a nod to his sister, ready to take on Charade the next time he shows up.

    "Count me in too!" Gust steps forward, ready for the next adventure that awaits him and the siblings before him.

    "Wait!!" Rainbow and Twilight are both shocked not only by this Charade escaping like this, but to hear that Daring Do...has a brother. Two in fact, "You two are...related?!"

    "That's right...and like I promised before in the temple: My next story will tell everything of my past and foalhood...including my brother: Clever Wits." The yellow pegasus mare hugs her brother, and is so happy for the adventure they shared together.

    Clever Wits, a pony of cleverness and quick thinking, hugs his sister back...thanking her for everything, "Thanks, big sister."

    Gust, Twilight, and Rainbow Dash find it sweet that these two siblings are together once again...and they look forward to the next story written by Daring Do herself...or more A.K. Yearling.
