From the golden city of Tambelon, which is nestled in the heart of the Island of Harmony itself, the great palace of the Royal Family stands proud and tall. Upon the highest tower, any and every settlement and location can be seen only by use of but a telescope that the Princess of Tambelon, Twilight Sparkle, happens to be gazing out onto her home on this very day.

From what her eyes can see, everypony within her city are moving about as normal: Some head on to work in order to earn bits for their families, while the youth get to enjoy a day off from school. Now, Twilight's sights go further beyond her city; Her eyes turn to the many settlements that rest all over Tambelon, wishing to see what might be going on this fine day.

The Black Fog Forest remains ever dark and forever forbidden to enter, even as the woods seem silent for now; The Scaly Spring Hills are filled with many flowers and luscious grass that the dragons and changelings frolic about or fly about; The zebra and buffalo roam about their home in the Southcape Tribe; The residence of Six Element Resort seem to be enjoying some fun in the sun, all while keeping their little resort up and running for whomever wishes to take a vacation there; The cloud city of Cumulai is ablaze with flyers of both pegasai and griffin...and especially the spectacular teams of Wonderbolts.

But out of all the places that Twilight observes, one in particular brings her to a state of confusion: When she moves her sights to the vast, blue lake that is said to be magical as it is relaxing when so much as a drop of water touches a pony's coat, she swears to have just seen something come up out of the water for a brief moment...then disappear.

"Hmmm...." The beautiful, but curious alicorn princess rubs her hoof underneath her chin while pondering at what it could be that she may have spotted, "Whatever that was, I hope to find out soon enough...."

While ever curious of the kingdom she and her husband, Courageous Heart, rule together, there are still many wonders that have yet to be discovered...and the fully-grown princess believes the next one might just be awaiting to be found at Alicorn Lake, which Twilight named personally for the great alicorn princesses that helped her get to where she is today.

"...but for now, let us see what is going on at Applelulu today...." Twilight anxiously turns her telescope to the great farming community to the northern lands of her island...to await and see what her good friend Applejack, and the all members of her family, are up to this fine day.

*******************************************

"Ah can't wait fer today's trip, Mama~" The little redish-pink filly named Candy Apple expresses to her mother with sheer joy, "All of us at da lake of Alicorns!!"

"That's Alicorn Lake, sweety." Cheerilee Apple, the kind and loving mother of the little filly, corrects her daughter as she works at a steady pace to finish making lunches for her family, "...and I am excited as well; We have not been on a family trip, where it was just us Apples, in a very long time."

"Eeyup!!" The head farmer of all Applelulu, Big Macintosh, replies while packing his saddleback with a few items for the trip.

"Dis here trip is gonna be one we Apples will never forget fer quite sum time~" The lovely and headstrong mare with the brown hat named Applejack states with pride.

"Ah agree with ya on dat one, big sis!" Applebloom, the teenage earth pony with the long red mane, supports her sister while gathering the apple cider for the trip.

"Darn tootin~" The wise and elderly pony, Granny Smith, shakes her hoof while resting within her rocking chair, "And don't even think bout leavin' me here like ya'll almost did last time!"

"We won't leave you, Great-Granny Smith...." Candy assures her favorite elderly pony, who is always full of energy and fun stories to tell. The little filly turns to her family in high hopes, "...right?"

"Of course we won't leave without Granny Smith," Applejack reassures her little niece, with a gently rub to her head, "Da Apples NEVER leave a family member behind!"

    "Dat's right!~" Applebloom agrees.

"Eeyup!" Big Mac replies, stating that he will never leave any member of is family behind for any reason whatsoever.

"We are Apples to the core~" Cheerilee reminds everypony with a warm smith to boost.

"YEEE-HAAAW!!!" Every young and old earth pony within the lovely farm house on the hill shouts in joy and excitement, ready to get this little weekend trip underway.

Once everything is packed and ready, the Apple Family of Applelulu load up their wagon with everything they will need for the trip south to Alicorn Lake. However, despite the mode of transportation big enough to carry a family of five, plus one who will pull said wagon, the extra weight from the chairs, food, blankets, and more might seem a bit much for the great red stallion to pull.

"Your sure you are alright pulling all of this and us at the same time, Sugarbear?" Cheerilee asks in a sweet tone to her darling husband.

"Eeyup~" Big Mac replies with a blush redder than his own coat.

"Ya sure ya got dis, big brother?" Applejack questions, as she helps her little niece into the wagon.

    "Eeyup..."

"We can remove a few things if ya like," Applebloom offers.

    "...Nnope...."

"Ya sure, Big Mac...?" Granny Smith asks of her grandson while she borders the wagon.

    "Eeyup...!"

"Are ya alright, Papa?" Candy speaks up when she notices her father looking a little frustrated.

"EEEEE...." Big Macintosh is about to blow, but calms himself and takes a big breath of fresh air, "Eeyup~" The great earth stallion replies with a big smile, wishing not for the trip he and his family planned for so long to be ruined by a little frustration.

"Den let's be on our way! YEEEEE-HAAAAAW!!!" Applejack whoops while swinging her hat up into the air, showing the spirit of the Apples and the honesty that comes with it all.

"YEEEE-HAAAW!!" The other Apples resound in joy as a sign of everypony raring to go and enjoy a fun little trip.

With that, Big Mac hooks himself up to the wagon and starts to pull it with ease down the hill, across the town of farmers, and out into the road of many winding passages. The Apple Family is now on their way to Alicorn Lake...where they will undoubtedly enjoy everything that is to behold there: Cool water, soft grass, and all the apples they can eat that they brought with them.

********************************************

As the wagon rolls on down the road for the next few hours, the Apples find some form of entertainment to keep them occupied before they arrive at Alicorn Lake. Applejack pulls out her banjo and begins to play an oldie but goodie; A familiar one that she and her family once sang years ago during a family trip of their own.

"We travel da road of Generations...into the Dusk and Dawn~" Applejack and her sister Applebloom start the song off, with a little something new this time, "We sing our song 'cross the Harmony nation, from Equestria and Tambelon~" Once the sister finish their line, the rest join for the fun of it:

"We're Apples forever, Apples Together,"
"We're Family, but so much More~"
"No matter what comes, we will face the Weather,"
"We're Apple to the Core!"

"Eeyup!!" Big Macintosh concludes the song as he continues to pull the wagon without so much as breaking a sweat, even with some form of exhaustion coming down upon him slowly.

"YAY!!!" The Apple Family cheers while Applejack strums the last verse of the song.

"Dat was fun! Eeyup!!" Candy admits to her mother and aunt, "Ah just love it when we sing dat there song whenever we go on a family trip."

"I'm so happy you love it, sweety." Cheerilee snuggles her daughter close to her, keeping her comfortable and close by as possible, "This is one of my favorite too."

"Ah'm so glad ya'll like dis song dat never gets old," Applejack expresses her thanks, knowing that using her combined talents of singing and banjo playing is all worth it in the end.

"Hey! Who are ya callin'...eh...old?" Granny Smith snorts, having to use her heading horn to listen.

"She meant da song, Granny...not you." Applebloom comforts her old-but-still-kicking Grandmother.

"Uh...oh...da song. Of course..." The elderly green mare shrugs and sits back down, "Mah hips and all dat may have been replaced...but its a...uh...darn shame mah hearin aint what it use to...uh...be....?"

The two sisters giggle at how their Granny Smith sometimes forgets things, even when they are right in front of her.

"What's uh...so funny dat ya'll are giggling like little nanny goats?" Granny Smith questions her granddaughters.

"Oh nothing, Granny Smith. We're just recallin da days ya would tell us yer little pony-tales about all da things ya saw dat most others did not." Applebloom explains while her family listens in, "Such as da whole Zap Apple event, and not ta mention claimin to have seen "Water-Ponies" at Alicorn Lake."

Big Mac and Applejack chuckle a bit at that tale that they found hard to believe themselves. While some tales their granny may spin have some truths in them...not all are true the way a blue apple grown on a pine tree.

"What ya'll mean by dat?!" Granny Smith snaps, taking that reaction a little personal, "Ya'll are just jealous dat I saw them magical creatures dat could...uh...swim...and uh...look like ponies and..."

"Alright Granny...take it easy," Applejack calms her grandmother down before she sprains an ankle or something, "If ya say dat dere are water ponies at Alicorn Lake...den maybe we might see one while we are dere~"

While the adult Apples just giggle at the idea that Water Ponies exist, Candy seems to like the idea for the moment, "But...is it true? Are Water Ponies...real?"

Hearing her little great-granddaughter mentioning an interest in the tale of how she saw Water Ponies during one of her trips to Alicorn Lake years ago, Granny Smith smiles with hope and is ready to spin her tale, "Dey sure do, youngin...and do Ah have quite a tale fer-"

"Maybe later, Granny...." Applejack interrupts and points her hoof straight ahead, "...because we have finally arrived at our destination!!"

"Yay!!!" Everypony aboard the wagon, including the stallion pulling it, cheers joyfully as the ride is coming to a close...and the real fun is about to begin.

****************************************

Big Macintosh makes a right turn as he pulls the wagon off the main road and onto the pathway leading towards the bright and beautiful park area known by all to be Alicorn Lake. With his family in tow behind him, the great red stallion and Head Farmer of all Applelulu forms a big smile on his lips to the safe and fast arrival without so much as one problem along the way.

"Wow...." Candy Apple mutters in amazement to the vast, great lake that is before her eyes. Not only that, but the other ponies that seem to be here also: Enjoying the cool, refreshing water...and spending time with their family and friends, "Dis is very pretty...."

"It sure is, sweety~" Cheerilee admits while recalling some memories of the times they were here in the past, "This is where we brought you when you were but a little foal."

    "Really?!"

"Darn tootin!" Applejack confirms to her little niece, "We all came here ta enjoy da sights of da lake named after the great Princesses of Equestria...plus dis is where ya-"

"Where ya learned how ta walk, Candy." Applebloom finishes her sister's sentence with a smile, proud to inform her niece of the day and moment that was so adorable to witness.

"Ah...learned ta walk...here?" The little filly questions in utter surprise, while the wind blows her blond, braided mane to the side, "Is...dis true...Mama? Papa?"

"Eeyup!" Big Macintosh expresses the joy of the day he got to see his little filly learn to walk.

"Yes, Candy. This was where you learned to take your first steps...and it was one of the many proud moments that I felt as your mother...." Cheerilee recalls the whole memory of when Candy walked all the way to her when they were all resting on the grass, that it brings her to shed tears of pride and happiness. "I'm...sorry..."

"Aww, Mama...." Candy Apple embraces her sweet and caring mother, expressing the love she feels for the one beautiful mare who raised her to be all that she is today, "Ah love you...so much."

Cheerilee wipes her eyes and sniffs a little, trying not to embarrass her family...despite how much those memories of her days, and that of Big Mac's, when they were raising their daughter from a little foal to a young filly, "I love you too, my little Candy," She returns the love of her daughter, through a warm hug that shows that this school teacher and farmer's wife will forever be the best mother she can be...so long as she has her family by her side to see her young one grow into a lovely and brilliant mare someday.

"Eeyup~" Big Macintosh comes to a full stop, unhooks himself from the wagon, then turns around to join in on the hug...sharing his love with the mare he loves now and forever, plus the little filly he is proud to call his daughter, "Ah...love ya'll too~"

"Awww...." The remaining Apples, comprised of Applebloom, Applejack, and Granny Smith, all join in as they share a warm family hug together. From the past when they all lived in Equestria to this moment today, the Apple Family have been through so many wondrous experiences that will forever remain in their memories. Now today, a new one will soon take shape as they enjoy the rest of the day here on Alicorn Lake National Park.

"Hey, is that you Applejack?" A familiar voice calls out from the sky above. A cyan coated mare, with a long rainbow mane, hovers in the air right above the wagon full of ponies.

"I think it is, sweety~" The cool blue stallion hovering next to her, who happens to be the husband of said pegasai, confirms once he has another look, "Yup! That's Applejack and her family alright!"

Turning her head up towards where the voices are coming from, Applejack and her family spot the pegasai couple wearing sunglasses...no doubt showing off their cool looks, "Why if it ain't Rainbow Dash and Soarin! How are ya'll doin?"

"Just fine, thanks!" Soarin says, coming down for a soft landing, "Never thought we'd be seeing you guys here."

"We're here for a family trip; Just gonna have a picnic, remember the good ole days, and maybe take a dip in da lake later on," Applejack explains, then asks with curiosity, "Wait a minute! What are ya'll doin here?"

"Nothing big~" Rainbow Dash comes in for a safe landing and stands before her best friend and rival, "Just thought Soarin, Gust, and I would come here for a little fun. I mean, nothing wrong with relaxing and enjoying the cool, refreshing water than no other place in all of Tambelon can compare to. Right?"

"Ah gots ta say nothin wrong with dat at all," Applebloom confesses, seeing not one problem with enjoying something so close to home...especially if it means spending time with friends in addition to family, "Say...is Scootaloo with ya'll?"

"Sorry kid. Scootaloo had some things to do back at the academy," Rainbow informs sadly, "Since she is still aiming to be a full Wonderbolt by next year, she decided to take the extra day for more studying."

    "Oh...."

"But Sweetie Belle is here...along with Rarity, Spike, and Delicacy." Soarin informs the young teenage Applebloom, also informing the others too, "We found them here when we arrived...and now that you guys have arrived all of a sudden, why dont we all get together and enjoy the day?!!~"

Everypony seems to love the idea, especially Candy, "Mama, can we?~" She pleas, wishing to spend time with her bests friends...as the rest of her family undoubtedly wishes to do as well.

Noticing the sweet and cute look on her daughter's face, in addition to the expressions on the rest of her family...which shows the same...Cheerilee smiles and hugs her precious filly, "But of course we can, sweety. What better way to spend the day with both family and friends~"

"Hooray!!!" Everypony cheers with joy and excitement to all that they may experience today...which will now be more exciting than originally planned.

Everypony helps the other unload the wagon, and make their way down the hill, passed the few picnic areas, and to a certain spot not too far from the lake itself...where Rarity, Spike, Sweetie Belle, Delicacy, and Gust happen to be resting on lovely red and white blanket. With plenty of food and fun to await them all, this day is one everypony there is ready to enjoy.

****************************************

"Everypony watch dis!!" Applejack shouts to grab the attention of her friends and family, "Dis here is fer professionals only!~" With that prideful brag said and done, the orange coated earth mare gallops towards the water, jumps high into the air, and begins to descend, "YEEEEE-HAAAAAWW!!!" After such a loud cry, Applejack makes a big splash into the water.

"Wow...." Candy and Applebloom are amazed to how far Applejack jumped over and in; To both of them, that Pony of Honesty is one amazing, athletic mare.

"Heh, that's nothing!~" Rainbow Dash challenges while flicking her mane a little, allowing it to flow in the wind as it blows, "Wait until you see me do something I like to call the Rainbow Cannonball!!"

"Yay! Do it, Mom!!" Gust cheers for his cool and awesome mother.

"You got it, Little Wing!" Rainbow winks at her son...then soars high into the air, then drops down at high speed...making a very big splash, "CANNONBALL!!!" The brave and daring mare cries right before hitting the water and going under for the moment.

A wave of water forms high and splashes down upon the few ponies sitting on the bank of the lake...which includes Candy and Applebloom, "DAT WAS AWESOME!!!!"

"Ugh...such ruffians...." The gracious and high class pony complains to the group of ponies fooling about and getting all wet and dirty from what she sees them doing, "Hmph...some ponies do not understand what it means to keep ones own image up at all times."

"I agree with you, sister~" The lovely Sweetie Belle concurs with her big sister, while sipping her tea out of a fancy and very expensive tea cup, "Although...I do miss those times when my friends and I would always get dirt everywhere from everyday...just to find our hidden talent."

"And when I had to spend hours fixing your beautiful mane!~" Rarity feels close to fainting from that aweful experience, "No sister of mine was going to look like a complete mess...especially while I was still around!"

"You still are...even as I do my best to sing my heart for all of Tambelon."

"You are correct, Sweetie Belle: I will continue to be by your side always, to help ensure your appearance is the best anypony could ever dream...and to support you whenever you are on that stage," With a warm smile from one sister to the other, Rarity touches the polished hoof of her sister's gently, "You are my sister...and I love you, forever and always."

Sweetie Belle returns the smile given to her with her own. As much this lovely teenage mare misses her foalhood and the adventures she had...especially the ones where she would get all dirty and messy...being a star singing in this kingdom is one she cannot turn away from. Even with all the support from her sister, Sweetie loves Rarity very much, "And I will always love you too, Rarity."

The two sister smile and continue to sip their tea together, while watching the ponies below the hill swim in the water...making big splashes as well as "Making Waves"...in the water and out.

"Throw it here, Big Mac!" Soarin calls out to his friend, awaiting to catch the frisbee with his mouth, or hooves...or even wings if he can.

"Eeyup!!" The stallion turns his head to the left and whips it forward, throwing the little blue frizbee disk into the air towards the pegasai.

Spike, however as big and strong as he is, flaps his wings hard, causing a strong cyclone of air to throw the frisbee off course...and towards him. "Got it!!~" The purple and green dragon grins with satisfaction as he catches the disk in his jaws.

"Hehehehe!" The two stallions chuckle then resume passing the frizbee back and forth to each other, getting some good exercise while their wives play and converse with one another or their friends.

While the other mares and stallions, and one dragon, continue to enjoy their time around their spot on the lake, Cheerilee and Granny Smith start to set out food for everypony to eat. Thanks to the efforts of last nights cooking, there are enough choices to go around to their family and that of the ones with them.

"Almost done~" Cheerilee giggles while setting out the last of the plates upon the red and white patterned blanket laying on the ground of green grass.

"Darn tootin!~" Granny Smith agrees with her granddaughter-in-law.

Just as the meal is all set and almost ready for everypony to gather around and eat, Candy and her two best friends arrive early...with tummies all the growling, "Mama? Is it time to eat yet?"

"In just a minute, my little filly~" Cheerilee informs with a sweet smile, setting down a nice little plate of sliced apples with sprinkled cinnamon on top.

"Um...Mrs. Apple...." The young little unicorn Delicacy speaks up, wishing to ask a question of her teacher, "We were also wondering...if the three of us could...go for a walk and...explore around the lake?"

"Yeah!" Gust supports that idea, wanting to see what else they can find, "Can we, please?"

Gazing down upon the three foals and their big, widening grins of sparkling white teeth...Cheerilee cannot resist those innocent little looks and sighs, "Alright...."

"YAY!!!" The three foals break their smiles and leap into the air with joy.

"...BUT...you will have to wait until after lunch...AND you will have to have an adult go with you," Cheerilee finishes, adding a strict but fair part to this deal...that any good mother and teacher would place before such three young ponies.

    "Awww...."

"Those are my terms...as are those of any of your parents here."

Unable to argue with their own teacher, and mother of one, the three foals look up and nod their head, "Okay...we agree."

"Very good. Now...let us all sit and enjoy a wonderful meal before you take off on your little adventure around the lake, shall we?" Cheerilee insists, then turns her gaze upon all the other family members and friends, "LUNCH IS SERVED!!~~"

Hearing those words bring everypony to stop what they are doing and either gallop or fly towards the great picnic blanket...where plates of sandwiches, apples, gems, hay, and more await for eating. After an hour or two of playing about and horsing around, everypony is ready for a wonderful meal before the next activity.

*************************************

"Tanks fer comin with us fer a walk round' da lake, Great Granny Smith," Candy Apple expresses her gratitude to her favorite Grandma...who is perhaps her only.

"Uh...wha...?" The wise, but sometimes forgetful elder pony mutters, "Ah did what again...?"

Delicacy giggles to this and speaks up, "You wanted to uh...take us for a walk and...possibly tell us about the..."Water Ponies"?"

"Oh yeah! Now Ah remember...!" The pony who has mastered the art of Zap Apples recalls, only to sit herself down on the soft grass not too far from the body of magical water, "Sit yerselves down, youngins...and A'll tell ya of what Ah saw back when all a' ya'll were but wee foals in a blanket."

Curious to hear of this story, the three young ponies of each of the three main species of pony sit themselves down before the elderly mare, minding not her floppy ears and wrinkled coat, and remain ever eager to listen to what Granny Smith has to say on the legendary creatures she calls "Water Ponies."

A Pony Tale of Old by SillySliggoo

"Now...uh...let me see...oh yeah!! It all started back when Candy was but a week filly, barely able ta stand...bless her little heart~" Granny Smith begins the story by expressing the joy she witness with her little Great Grandfilly. "Big Macintosh and Cheerilee wanted ta bring her ta Alicorn Lake, which as ya'll know was named by Princess Twilight Sparkle...in honor of da great princesses that helped her reach princess status...and uh...da water was said to be magical as alicorn magic...and...uh...."

"Uh...ya were mentioning me, Great Granny Smith?" Candy interrupts politely, helping the elder pony resume the story she is trying to weave.

"Oh...right...." Granny grins nervously and rubs her noggin, "Darn memory ain't what it use ta be...." Shaking her head a little, the ever forgetful elder resumes, "Anyway...we all came down to da lake to enjoy some family time, as well as witness Candy takin' her first steps: It was a moment none of us ever forgot...which is why Ah never forgot da next thing Ah saw dat dere day: While Ah was watchin' ya finally walkin' and sometimes stumblin'...dat was when Ah saw it...."

"Saw what, Granny Smith?" Gust asks...anxious to know what happens next.

"Well...Ah saw something blue jumping out of da water not far from where we were all sitting; It was long, had fins, and Ah could have sworn in was smilin' at me," Granny Smith explains all that she saw in great detail...then a few extra details that seem strange, "Ah even think it had a fin like a fish...and had only two legs...and...uh...."

"Uh...." Gust, Candy, and Delicacy have some trouble believing Granny Smith, even after admiring such a wonderful story. But now...it seems a little odd how she saw these "Water Ponies" when the other Apples did not. "So...did Mama or Papa see them?" Candy asks in curiosity.

"Nah...dey were too busy watchin' ya dat when Ah tried to get dere attention, dey didn't want ta to take so much as a second to look away from ya, Candy...." Granny admits sadly, "Dey missed dere chance at seein' somethin' magical...even though seein' ya learn how ta walk was just as magical."

"Awww...." Candy blushes a little at hearing how she was the center of attention that day so long ago.

"Hehehe...." Gust snickers at his best friend, teasing her a little.

"What's so funny, Gusty?!" The huffy little filly smacks the shoulder of the little pegasai who should not be teasing her like that...especially when he had a moment like that when he was her age.

"Ow...nothing...." He admits, while rubbing his shoulder a little.

"Now now, youngins...no need ta fight," Granny Smith gently breaks up their horsing around before it might get out of hoof, "It was a magical day...fer all of us...and now it makes me now see why dis here place is called Alicorn Lake."

"Because of the magic...?" Delicacy asks, hoping to be right.

"Well yes...and dat somethin is always...uh...new...oh, to be discovered here!" The green coated elder concludes, stumbling a little on her words, "Still...it would be somethin ta see dem water ponies again."

"If they exist, that is...." Gust states.

    "Of course dey-"

Suddenly, a splash is heard nearby from the water.

"What...was that?" Delicacy asks, feeling a little nervous.

    "Probably a fish," Gust guesses.

"Ya think?" Candy questions her friend, then wonders if it could be that which her Great Grandmother claims, "Or...a Water Pony?"

"Ah think it might just be...." Granny Smith gasps a little when she notices the ripples in the water that seem too big for that of a simple fish, "Maybe...we should wait and see...." Changing the tone of her voice from normal to that of a whisper.

The three foals hide behind a grassy bush with Granny Smith...awaiting to see if what they heard was indeed a Water Pony...or nothing more than a fish jumping. Whatever may come next, the four ponies ready themselves for what they may see.

*********************************************

An Hour Later....

Granny Smith and the three young ponies sit idly behind the bush, awaiting for the moment when they may spot that very creature, or creatures, from the tales the elder pony has mentioned. However...

"Ugh...how much longer are we gonna wait like this?! This is SOOoooooo boring...." The now whining pegasai colt asks of his friends, while lying on his back struggling around for no apparent reason.

"Ah hate to admit it...but this is gettin' a little dull, Granny...." Candy admits, despite how much she wants to believe her Great-Grandmother, "Eeyup...."

"We have been sittin' here fer an hour now...and our parents may be getting worried," Delicacy reminds her friends and the elder pony, wishing not to worry her mother and father, "Maybe we should head back?"

"Great Granny Smith....?" Candy turns her attention from her friends to the elder mare, who continues to gaze at the water...concentrating on spotting the littlest ripple that could be from that of a Water Pony. "Can we go back now...?"

Just before the ever watchful elder mare can turn her head to admit that the young ones do need to be returned to their parents, her eyes widen bigger than any apples grown in Applelulu...and her jaw drops down as low as it can go. "....."

    "Granny...?"

"L-L-Look...." Granny Smith stutters upon what she sees not too far from the shore.

Gust, Candy, and Delicacy all take a look through the bushes, remaining hidden, and gasps upon what they see: Two blue pony-like creatures, with scales and fins about their bodies. Such a sight has never been witnessed in all of history...but these four ponies may just be in the presence of the creatures of myth-now-real: Water Ponies.

"Your zure we zhouldz be upz here, Coral?" The first Water Pony asks of the other, indicating that they are both mares...if they can be called that as a way of determining their gender, "It iz against za rulez zet by our familiez...and za council-"

"Ahhh, forgetz za rules, Shelly...." The other Water Mare waves off her friend with by a wave of her fin, "Bezidez, I've alwayz wanted to zee what de zurface world is like."

"You know az well az I do...dat za zurface iz ruled by zat wicked ram and hiz zervantz...who might be trying ta trick uz to za zurface...like he haz tried with our ancestorz!" The one called Shelly reminds her reckless friend.

"Ahh phooey!" Coral replies with a rolling of her eyes, "How do we notz know if he is even still around? Itz been years and za land above lookz zo beautiful. How can we ignore all diz and not be able to enjoy za zurface like our ancestorz once did?"

"You may not know it...but all of ziz maybe another trap."

"Oh ztop worrying...and have zome fun~" Coral suggests to her best friend, and splashes some water in her face, "Come on zand join me~"

Shelly smiles and giggles a bit, admitting that coming to the surface does seem fun...despite them possibly getting into trouble later on, "Alright...you're on!~"

The two water ponies continue to play and enjoy themselves, splashing each other and giving chase...as well as leaping up into the air a bit to see who can go the highest. The two have so much fun that they do not notice the land ponies nearby watching.

"Wow...." Gust, Delicacy, and Candy all mutter in silence to that which they are witnessing in full view, "They...are real..."

"Ah knew dey were real! I just knew- Whoawhoawhoa!!" Granny Smith states proudly, only to lose her balance due to her standing on her back legs...falling back and landing upon the soft grass, "Ah Ponyfeathers...."

The noise Granny Smith just made alerts the two young Water Ponies nearby....

************************************

"Oh no! It'z za Ramz! Flee!!" Shelly cries to her friend, turning her tail and ready to dive without looking to see if it is a ram or something else that might or might not be dangerous.

Coral, as much as she wishes to not be captured, refuses to swim away without seeing who or what it is that made that noise, "No...."

    "W-What...?"

"Let uz at leazt zee what it waz before we flee like little zea urchinz," Coral states with pride and turns towards the shore...scouting for whatever it was that made the sound that frightened she and her friend, "Iz anypony zere?"

"W-W-What should...we do?" Delicacy asks, all nervous as the others. Now that they saw the Water Ponies, she is unsure if they should make themselves present before the curious creatures...or make themselves disappear.

"Ah...Ah don't know...." Granny Smith admits. As much as she wishes to see the magnificent creatures up close, she may feel that doing so might scare them off.

"I don't know either...." Gust confesses...although he loves to act brave in the face of new challenges, he cowers in the embrace of Granny Smith.

Candy, unsure of what might happen if either choice is made: Remaining quiet until the Water Ponies leave, or present themselves before them. Feeling nothing to lose, the young filly moves on out of hiding from the bushes of green...only to trip and roll on down the small hill and into the water itself. "Ouch...."

Gasping at witnessing a little pony falling and rubbing her head, Coral swims up to the shore to help Candy up onto her hooves, "Are you alright zere, little pony?"

"E...Eeyup," Candy Apple admits while rubbing her little noggin, "Thank ya kindly...."

"Zi am happy to help~" The little Water Pony smiles while using her two front fins to help the earth pony up and her big back fin to stay afloat, "Zi take it you're notz ramz or anything?"

"N-No...." The little filly shakes her head, allowing a bit of water to leave her wet braided mane, "Tambelon has been...free from dem wicked goats fer bout'...ten years now?"

"Really?" Coral asks with suspicion, "Ze council of my home below zeyz zat it is all a trick and we zhould not come to ze zurface. However, ze alzo zeid zat no creature of evil can zet hoof down in ze water...yet here you are, doing juz zat wizout zo much az a reaction. You muzt be telling za truth zen."

Candy is quite surprised to all of this, and can find very few words to say, "Wow. Ah guess...we all have sum catchin' up ta do; Dere are so many things ta ask about you Water Ponies...."

"...And we have much to azk about what haz been going on ze island that waz once our home before my ancestors became what you call "Water Ponies"...." Coral mentions, hoping to know as much as her friend wishes to know as well.

"You alright dere, Candy?!" Granny Smith comes running down the hill, as fast as she can go without tripping, hoping her great granddaughter is alright.

Gust and Delicacy rush on down to help their friend, and become speechless from seeing a Water Pony up close, "Wow...."

"Ah'm alright," Candy reassures her worrying elder family member, while turning to her new friend Coral, "Dis here is mah Great Granny Smith...." She then turns back to her great grandmother, "...and dis here is Coral, my new friend."

"Nice ta meet ya, little one."

"Zank you, kindly~" Coral giggles while turning her head to her friend out in the water, "Hey Shelly! Come zan meetz zeze kind little poniez. Zey are friendly."

A little nervous at first, the other young Water Pony approaches with caution...and notices that these four ponies seem to be nice and not any evil rams of any sort, "Zi...uh...hello."

"Hi!" Gust waves and smiles big, clearly excited to making some new friends with these creatures that he finds to be very awesome and cool.

"Hello to you too," Delicacy remembers her manners and returns the greeting to the Water Pony named Shelly.

Just then, a little ways out in the lake from the shore, two adult Water Ponies pop their heads on out...searching for their missing daughter, "Coral?!" The mother and father call out to their little Water Filly, "Cor...al?" The two gasps upon beholding their daughter and friend, conversing with land ponies.

Coral, hearing the call of her parents, turns around and smiles, "Over here, Mommy! Daddy!" She waves her flipper and hopes they will come on over, "We made some new friends!~"

With so much to question and ponder, from both the ponies of land and water, all that matters at this moment is that a long lost myth has been revealed to be as true as Tambelon itself. Whatever may come next is unknown...but hopefully will be one where the two species from two different worlds may try to come together after many generations.

"Candy! Where are you?!" Cheerilee calls out for her little filly, wondering where on Tambelon she and her friends are...especially since they have been gone for over an hour as instructed.

"Granny Smith!!!" Applejack calls for her old guardian, hoping she and the kids didn't get lost.

"Oh where could dey be?" Applebloom worries for her Granny and little niece, "Ah sure hope dey will show up soon enough...."

"Eeyup...." Big Macintosh worries for his young daughter, and hopes that this was all a big misunderstanding and will not have to punish her for being gone too long.

"Oh me oh my...." Rarity acts a bit dramatic, worrying ever so for her precious daughter, "Do you see them yet, Spikey-Wikey?!!" She calls out to her dragon husband, who is flying high in the sky with Rainbow Dash and Soarin.

The three flyers soar around a bit, looking for the missing elder pony and three younger ones...and then come to a halt when they spot not only their missing ponies...but something else that leaves them speechless for the moment. Once they snap out of it, Spike, Rainbow Dash, and her husband Soarin, fly their way on down to their friends to tell them what they just saw.

"What did you guys see? Is it them?" Sweetie Belle asks her friends, hoping they saw what they all hope to find.

"We did...and something that...well....something that I don't think I can explain...." Spike is unable to spit it out due to being in a state of confusion and amazement.

"Yeah...." Rainbow Dash agrees with her friend and flying buddy, "I think you guys are gonna wanna see this...."

"Yeah, come on! Let's go!" Soarin, all ablaze with excitement, convinces his family and friends to follow him to where he and his wife have located their missing foals...and more.

Everypony else is confused, but follows close behind the two Wonderbolt Captains and one dragon...going as fast as their legs can carry them to wherever and whatever has grabbed the attention of this flyers in a way that not even they can explain.

"Oh my...!" Rarity blurts out in shock and wonder to what she is now beholding with her own little blue eyes.

Everypony comes to a halt on the ground or in the air when they find not only Granny Smith and the three young foals who have been missing for around an hour or so, but a collection of pony-like creatures swimming around in the water...playing with their kids while one if sharing a conversation with the elder one.

"By all the harmony in the world...." Cheerilee is in awe to the magnificent creatures she sees before her and can only ask this question for her friends and family to answer...even if they cannot, "...are they...Water Ponies?"

"I...I don't know but...they are beautiful." Sweetie Belle admits, admiring their sparkling blue coats of scales, their fins and flippers, and the way they move about the water with ease.

"Dey sure are...." Applebloom agrees with her best friend, finding this something the likes of which she or nopony has ever seen before.

Applejack is speechless and while this sight is beyond the scope of magnificent and breath-taking, there is only one thing that comes to her mind to soon reaches her mouth, "Ah think we owe Granny Smith a BIG apology for dis...."

"Eeyup...." Big Macintosh agrees without question, feeling a little guilty that he did not believe his grandmother, when the existence of such a creature seems unlikely...even while standing in the presence of a few.

"I know one thing: Twilight is going to have a field day with this; She will be writing books for days and days on these creatures...and be as giddy as a schoolfilly like she was in her younger days...." Spike admits, knowing his best friend well from being her former Number One Assistant years ago in Equestria.

"You got that right, Spike." Rainbow concurs with her dragon buddy, knowing the "Egghead" princess will want to know more on all of this once she finds out...if she hasn't already.

"Heh! Yeah...." Soarin nods his head up and down slowly, admire the beauty to behold with all of this.

"Mommy! Daddy!!" Gust, Candy, and Delicacy see their parents arriving and rush on up to hug them all, "The Water Ponies are real!!"

Embracing their little ones close to them, the group of three wonderful parents and other family hold them tight while agreeing with them on what they now see before them.

"You should come and meet our new friends: Coral and Shelly!" Delicacy suggests, wishing to have her parents introduce themselves to the two water fillies they befriended.

"You guys should see the tricks they can do: Jumping out of the water and making a BIG splash!" Gust reveals with excitement, hinting that he no doubt had some fun with his new friends for the past half hour upon discovering them.

"Also, turns out dat Coral's father once tries ta impress his beloved by leaping out of the water...showing off his moves n' proving his love fer her," Candy explains something linking to her past when she was brought to the lake to learn how to walk, "Granny Smith was de only one who spotted him doing it dat dere day...."

The moment they hear this, Applejack and the other Apples all giggle...now knowing that all those stories from Granny Smith, and some rumors from before, are now all true. Knowing also that there will be so much to learn from these ponies who have probably been living in the water since back before Tambelon fell into Darkness, the parents and families are led down to the lake where they can meet and befriend these magnificent Water Ponies...bringing forth a new friendship to this island of harmony.

*********************************************

High up in the tallest tower of Tambelon Castle, the ever watchful Princess Twilight Sparkle gazes on through her telescope...in awe and amazement to her best friends playing with the newly discovered Water Ponies that have been living in Alicorn Lake this whole time. This brings her so much anticipated excitement.

Not only that, but she also notices some of her friends writing a letter...then having Spike magically send it off with his green flames. No doubt, it is a new Friendship Lesson learned by all her friends down at the lake...and it magically appears before the awaiting lavender alicorn ready to be read. Opening the letter with her own magic, Twilight reads the letter out loud...unaware for the moment that her husband is listening from nearby.

    "Dear Princess Twilight,"

"Today we all learned an important lesson: There are many stories told throughout the world; Some that are based on facts, and some that might seem made up to amaze others. However real or unreal they may seem, stories can open anypony's eyes into a magical world of wonder to beyond.

"This day one pony's tale that we thought to be nothing but an old myth...turns out to be something that we are now witnessing for the first time in generations. With what our little ones have discovered this day, will open up so many possibilities for more stories to be told and written...no doubt by you yourself and others."

    "Your Faithful Subjects and Friends."

P.S. Take it easy with the writings, Egghead~  RD

Once she finishes the wonderful letter, along with a rolling of her eyes with a giggling smile at the last part, Twilight Sparkle rolls up the letter and will have it stored within her library of many books and lessons that she keeps in a safe location...so that she can never forget the days when these lessons have been learned.

"I take it our friends have discovered a new lesson today, huh?" Courageous Heart implies once he steps on out of the shadows and onto the balcony, where he finds his wife spending time watching the land they rule instead of resting due to her being pregnant.

"Yes...and more~" Twilight giggles and nuzzles the cheek of her beloved husband.

"You do know you should be resting right now~" Courageous nuzzles her cheek in return, while reminding her of what the doctors have suggested for her and the baby.

"Don't worry, my love. I'll be fine...." The beautiful and brilliant alicorn reassures her ever watching and loving stallion of courage, "But...I do feel like relaxing in the library right now...so I can maybe write a new book on something that our friends discovered today~"

With a warm smile and a wing around the body of his beloved, Courageous gives a light nod in agreement to all that, "Then let us get you downstairs and to the library, my love~"

Twilight Sparkle blushes and giggles to her husband's forever caring support, and walks on down the long flight of stairs with him...leaning on him for support. With so much to look forward to, including the arrival of her newborn foal, the long lost history of the Water Ponies awaits for her to not only learn in the days to come...but for Twilight to write down for all to read very soon.

A whole new discovery and friendship...has begun.

Very nice story and well-creative plot! :happybounce: Kind of reminds me of the sea ponies back at G1.
I love that part, especially the song: ♫Shoo Bee Doo, Shoo Shoo Bee Doop~♫
Anyway, magnificent and well done there, bro! :D
