Out of all the restaurants and snack shops within the Golden City of Tambelon, which rests at the heart of the Kingdom Island of Tambelon itself, only one stands out as the most popular and unique of them all. Decorated with party balloons and streamers all day long inside and out, and with nothing much delicious treats and sweets to be found to satisfy but little children and bigger adults, only one place in all of Tambelon is where anypony will want to go when in the mood for something sweet: Sugarcane Lane.

Owned and run by the Pie sisters...Pinkie, Marble, and Limestone Pie...these three mares work their hardest, and sometimes not so much on a slow day, to serve their best friends and guests with a smile that will without a doubt bring joy even after they finish consuming the treats ordered. With Pinkie at the counter to greet and serve the customers, Marble in the back working on cakes and pies, plus Limestone handling the ice cream and the inventory at times, everything always seems to be going the way the Pie Sisters always hope it to be:

"Super-Duper-Awesome-Blossom!!!" The pink pony with the puffy pink mane cheers with a squeal, always within a mood that can brighten anypony's day, "That will be three bits for a double-scooped Rainbow Surprise~"

"Here you go, Ms. Pinkie Pie." A little buffalo says, placing the gold coins he has saved up for the week to pay for a treat.

"Thank you so much~" Pinkie accepts the currency and places it within the cash register, which signals for her sister, Limestone, to give the multi-colored two-stacked ice cream on a waffle cone to the happy customer.

"Here you go, little one." The gray-coated mare says with smile to the little buffalo, "Just be careful and do not spill it~"

"I won't. Thank you so much!"

The two sisters watch as the happy customer of such a young age gently carry his ice cream back to the table over yonder...where his little sister awaits to share some of it. This wonderful sight of two siblings sharing a delicious treat brings warmth and joy to both Limestone and Pinkie...knowing they have helped bring happiness this day to both themselves and the two now licking their ice cream together.

"Another satisfied, smiling customer~" Pinkie Pie says to her sister, giggling at how much joy there is in doing what she does best: Bringing smiles to everypony and anypony.

"He sure was," Marble agrees upon hearing this after walking out from the backroom, "All the cakes are caught up, frosting and fillings. Why don't you take a break, Pinkie Pie?"

"Awww...do I have to? I am having so much FUN serving everypony!!"

"Its alright, little sister." Limestone assures the pink pony she and Marble love so much, "You've been working hard for the last eight or so hours. Take at least...thirty minutes-"

Pinkie's eyes go all puppy-dog like, with her lip whimpering upon hearing that she will have to be off for that long a time...which is perhaps too long for somepony like her.

    "Okay...fifteen minutes then."

Pinkie Pie's eyes begin to tear up with her puppy eye and whimpering lips still going.

"Alright, Alright. Five minutes...." Limestone finally submits to her little sister's cute face that shows begging for less off time.

"WHEEE-HEEEE!!" Pinkie Pie's sad face vanishes and turns into one of joy and excitement, which is followed by throwing her front legs around Limestone and Marble...pulling them in close to give them each a BIG HUG, "Oh Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!"

The two sister giggle and feel the pink pony they love so much squeezing them tight in this warm, family hug. "Any...time...Pinkie...Pie." Marble mutters. "Too tight...Pinkie." Limestone whispers, gasping for breath.

"Oh! Sorry!" Pinkie apologizes and loosens her grip, but keeps her sisters close still, "Thank you so much! I love you two so so so so SO SO MUCH!!!~"

"We love you too, Pinkie Pie," Limestone and Marble reply, returning the hug with one of each...showing how much they love their sister and all they do here in Sugarcane Lane.

Once the hug comes to a gentle end, Pinkie Pie zooms on into the back...where the break room resides: A whole buffet of sweets, such as cupcakes, apple pies, and more all lie about for any of the Pie Sisters to enjoy.

Limestone and Marble giggle a little, finding how much their little sister's personality can win smiles all over Tambelon and Equestria. Not only that, but how they are all living and working together in this lovely ice cream parlor is something that few ever do when it comes to a family business.

"May I have some ice cream?" A young changeling colt asks of the two mares standing behind the counter.

"Of course. What would you like, sweetie?" Limestone happily asks, ready to take this order while her sister, Marble, handles preparing the ice cream for the new customer.

*******************************************

"Oh...hello...Limestone...and Marble." A shy little pegsaus pony greets the two Pie Sisters before her. With her long, silk pink mane covering part of her face...while the rest runs along the floor, the pony known by all as Fluttershy.

"Oh, hello Fluttershy. It is so good to see you again." Limestone greets one of the five best friends of her little sister Pinkie. "What brings you to Sugarcane Lane this fine day?"

"Well...I was heading home after dropping off Owlicious, Aquila, and Opal from sitting them last night...and I thought about stopping by to visit Pinkie Pie." Fluttershy answers, feeling a little nervous all of a sudden. "I mean...if she is not too busy that is. If she is busy, I can come back. I can...if you think it is best...."

"Easy, Fluttershy." Marble reassures the timid, yet worried, little pony...calming her down, "Pinkie Pie is currently on break and should be out in-"

Suddenly, both Marble and Limestone feel something dash right passed them with such speed; A burst of speed from what can only happen from a familiar pink presence whenever somepony close comes to visit.

"FLUTTERSHY!!" Pinkie Pie throws her front legs around the neck of her best friend, hugging her ever so close, "I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!!"

"Hello...Pinkie...Pie." Fluttershy mutters while feeling the pink arms of her best friend crushing her in this great big bear hug, "How...have you...been?"

"I'm doing well. Then again I always am since I have plenty of happiness to spread around here at Sugarcane Lane all thanks to my sisters and the wonderful ponies that come herefor a special treat. They all come in with curiosity to what they want to order and I see to it that they get what they want...PLUS A SMILE TO GO WITH IT!!!" Pinkie Pie explains without pause, squealing at the end due to her over-excitement for all she has accomplished this day and before.

"That's...wonderful, Pinkie Pie." Fluttershy admits in admiration to the party-loving pony who's cheerful spirit always brighten anypony's day...including herself.

"So, you gonna stay for a while? I hope you do because if you don't that might be so sad that you came by for only a short while to see a friend or order a treat...unless you do stay for a while longer we can have some ice cream or some cookies or some cake and talk about anything we want and that will make me SO VERY HAPPY!!!"

Fluttershy smiles nervously and is unsure what to say at first, but then sighs and shows a more supporting smile to her best friend, "Well...I guess I could stay for a little while-"

"YAY!!!" Pinkie Pie squeals again, hugging Fluttershy once again. She then dashes on over to the booth nearby and sits her best friend down gently, "Here you go! Be right back!" Pinkie zooms off once again and returns to the same spot in only three seconds with a triple scooped vanilla ice cream, "For you~"

"Awww...thank you, Pinkie Pie." Fluttershy thanks her best friend and accepts the generous gift of a delicious treat, "This looks so yummy."

"Eat it while we talk. We have SOOOOOOooooooo much to catch up on since we last had a conversation like this~" Pinkie suggests and admits, hoping she and her best friend can talk for the next hour or so.

"We sure do, Pinkie Pie. I am happy we are doing this again."

"Looks like Pinkie will be taking a longer break after all," Marble implies to her sister, who stands right beside her.

"I guess so. Well, it is for the best: Pinkie works so hard to greet our guests and bring smiles to their faces," Limestone says, "Let's leave her to chat with an old friend while we maintain the front."

    "Sounds good to me."

***********************************

A Hour Later....

"So, how is Angel Bunny doing?" Pinkie Pie asks her best friend Fluttershy upon thinking up a topic...since most others have been discussed in the last sixty minutes.

"Oh, he is doing very well...along with his wife and twenty children." The happy, yellow pegasus explains to her best friend, "Some of his little bunnies have much of their father in them: His stubborn attitude, but I am able to keep them in control and out of trouble."

"You mean with..." Pinkie looks to the left then the right, then back into the eyes of Fluttershy, "...the STARE?!"

"Oh...well...I only use it in emergencies...but I try not to all the time." Fluttershy says, feeling a little ashamed, "I feel that my STARE is scary sometimes. I know my little animal friends are afraid of it...but when I do it to myself in the mirror...well...I uh...I run and hide for hours."

"Awww, you should'nt be so scared, Fluttershy. Your STARE is very neat!~" Pinkie reassures her nervous friend.

    "You...think so?"

"Of course, silly! I mean, your STARE is so strong...it can scare evil away!" Pinkie reminds Fluttershy of the past, "Remember when you used in on Angel and all the animals when the Darkness had control of everypony? Your STARE frightened them off; It worked as good as the Light did~"

Giggling to the memory of long ago, over ten years to be exact, Fluttershy feels more accepting towards her special gift...other than her love for every little critter in the world, "Thank you, Pinkie Pie. That...That does help me feel better."

"You're Welcome, Fluttershy. You never have to worry about anything when your ole Auntie Pinkie is here to make you feel better~"

Even though Fluttershy is a year older than Pinkie and most of her friends, she worries not about correcting her friend...especially with those helpful, soothing words that Pinkie used; It all helps bring a smile to her face...which is something that Pinkie Pie knows how to do best.

Suddenly, the sound of something crawling with so much weight on it is on an approach to the booth where both Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. The latter gulps at the noise of whatever it might be...and turns her head to her left slowly. "EEEEP!!!" Fluttershy squeals in fright to the sight of a large alligator before her. She leaps into the air and clings to the hanging lamp above, trembling.

"Fluttershy? What's the matter?" Pinkie turns her sights up towards the ceiling to where her friend is attempting to hide, "It's only Gummy."

Fluttershy opens her eyes and stares down at the ground where the large, green alligator stands on all four of his claws and opens his great mouth...revealing no teeth whatsoever. "Oh...sorry. It was just...so sudden and...he scared me."

"Awww, don't be afraid, silly. Gummy is still harmless since he has no teeth~" Pinkie Pie reassures her timid friend hanging from above, "He always comes in at this time to bring me the mail."

"Oh...I see." Fluttershy whispers, releasing the lamp and makes her way down to the pink and white tile floor...using her wings to get the job done.

"Yep!" Pinkie smiles and opens Gummy's mouth, looking deep inside for the letters, "Now where are they this time?"

Fluttershy gasps when she watches the pet alligator bite down on Pinkie's head with his gums, causing the mare's head to get squeezed a little with the sounds of a squeaky-toy being made. "Oh...Oh my...." Even though Pinkie is unharmed from the biting, nor seem to know what is going on, Fluttershy feels alright but is nervous by the sight of it.

"Nope, not there...." Pinkie mutters while her pet playfully bites on her head, "No, that's Gummy's tongue. Nope...Nope...." Pinkie continues to look for the letters her pet may have eaten, and pulls them on out, "Found them~"

"That's...that's good, Pinkie." Fluttershy admits, glad to have her friend out of the mouth of such a creature that makes her as nervous the way some dragons do.

"Now...let's see what we have today...." The pink pony says with a smile on her face, browsing through the envelopes that have different addresses and such on each...only to gasp at the very last one in the small stack, "OHMYGOODNESS!!!"

"What is it, Pinkie?!" Limestone and Marble here the commotion and leave the counter to come to their sister's aid, "What's wrong?!"

"What does it say, Pinkie Pie?" Fluttershy questions, feeling very scared to what the front of the letter says before even being opened.

"Its...Its...." Pinkie Pie stares at the front and then turns it around to show her sisters and friend the writing on the front, and what it says, "ITS FROM CHEESE SANDWICH!!!"

"Uuughhhh...." The two sisters sigh in both relief and annoyance. Such a reaction by their sister was almost a cause for alarm. "We thought it was something bad." Limestone states. "Please don't do that again. You scared us." Marble adds.

"Sorry...." Pinke squees in embarrassment for scaring her sisters...and some of the guests currently sitting at their tables and booths, "Sorry, Everypony!"

The guests return to their treats, a little curious to what all the commotion was. However, they are too busy with their ice creams or other treats to worry about something that might take away their current smiles.

"So...what does it say?" Fluttershy asks.

"I've got to open it first, silly." Pinkie Pie reminds her best friend, giggling a little.

    "Oh...right...sorry."

Pinkie Pie opens the letter and unfolds the parchment inside...only to have the sound of a party horn and streamers fly out of it. "Hehehehehe. Good Ole Cheese! He sure knows the best way to send a letter with a surprise inside~"

Marble, Limestone, and Fluttershy are startled to how Cheese Sandwich, a pony who loves to party and bring joy as much as Pinkie Pie, was able to do this. However, nopony asks how...since this sort of thing is similar to SO MANY unexplained events with Pinkie Pie; In the end, it is best to leave these questions unanswered and focus on the letter.

Pinkie Pie smile and then reads the letter loud enough for her sisters and friend to hear, but not the rest of the ice cream parlor:

    "Dear my Dearest Pinkie Pie,"

"I hope you are doing well and I hope to see you soon. Since my Birthday is tomorrow, I want to come visit you in Tambelon and spend that day with you if possible. I hope to see you soon."

    -Cheese Sandwich

"Wow!" Limestone expresses once her little sister finishes the letter, "I didn't know tomorrow is his birthday...since I don't think he has ever had one here."

"Same here. I think it will be nice to have him here for his birthday." Marble agrees with her other sister.

"OhMyGosh!" Pinkie gasps to this last-minute announcement sent by the pony she admires and has been dating for the past year, "Cheese is coming here for his birthday...and I don't have a party set up yet!!!"

Before Limestone, Fluttershy, and Marble can calm the pink pony with the fluffy mane down before she gets more hyper than usual, Pinkie is already panting in a panic.

"Oh dear! I have to get a cake prepared for this plus the gifts and the decorations and some party guests. Oh I need to send out invitations to all my friends and probably try and claim a spot in Tambelon City Park for the party since it is going to be SO BIG that Sugarcane Lane might be too small and-"

"PINKIE!!" Limestone and Marble shout to their sister, trying to calm her, "Easy...."

"Take a deep breath, Pinkie Pie," Fluttershy suggests, running the back of her friend with her yellow, polished hoof.

Since it is her sisters and best friend giving her such suggestions, Pinkie follows their instructions...taking in a deep breath of fresh air that smells like the sweets that are all about this parlor, and the perfume her sisters and best friend wear. Pinkie holds the air in...and starts to turn blue in the face; She almost looks like a balloon.

"Let it out!!" The two Pie sisters shout.

Pinkie releases and flies all over the place like a balloon when its air is released from the end. She soars throughout the parlor, crossing everypony and every table along the way...until she lands like a feather onto one of the vacant tables, "Wheee...that was fun~"

"As much as it was...you need to be calm for this, Pinkie Pie." Marble suggests, "There will be time to plan for the party...even with less than a day to plan for it."

"Not helping...." Limestone whispers to her sister, "We need to be supportive of our sister...or her mane will go flat like ours and she will lose her cheerful spirit."

"Sorry...and I know. That last thing either of us want is to bring sadness to our little sister."

    "Why are we all whispering?"
Pinkie Pie moves in to her sisters, wondering what they are doing and talking about.

"Sorry, Pinkie." Both Marble and Limestone apologize, allowing the latter to speak up on something important, "Well, we were just discussing how happy we are for your coltfriend to be paying a visit, especially on his birthday, but just don't push yourself too hard for a last-minute birthday party. it might not go the way most of your parties usually do."

"I...uh...I have to agree with them, Pinkie." Fluttershy supports the older Pie sisters, "I will...still help if I can. I will...even attend, if you want me there."

"Of course!" Pinkie Pie agrees with a smile, "All my friends will be there...so don't worry about me; I know how to plan any party like the back of my hoof~" She then turns her left hoof around to look at it and raises an eyebrow, "Hmm...looks like some cake frosting got on me." She licks the white stuff and smiles, "Mmmmm. Vanilla Cake Frosting~"

The two Pie sisters, Marble and Limestone, giggle to their little sister's cheerful and motivated personality. Even Fluttershy admires how Pinkie never allows anything to bring her down. With whatever time there may be between tomorrow morning until evening, The three mares hope to help their favorite party pony prepare the best celebration she can for their other favorite party pony: Cheese Sandwich.

Pinkie Pie by Drawing-Heart

*************************************************

The Next Morning....

Pinkie Pie awakens bright and early, around Seven in the morning. Trending carefully so she does not wake her sisters...and since there is so much to do in such little time, this little pink pony may know what to do to prepare for her coltfriend's party...but hopes there will be enough time for the preparations.

"I won't let you down, Cheese! You would always come to my birthday parties and give me such a big surprise. Well today, it is my turn to shine and show you how much I care!!" Pinkie says to herself within her mind...which is full of possibilities for the party she plans to have completed by this afternoon.

Once her mane is all poofy as it is suppose to be, and her list of items to buy out in the city, Pinkie Pie dashes on out of the house she and her sisters live in together...and makes her way to the first stop:

"INVITATIONS!!!~~~" Pinkie Pie scrolls through her little saddlebag full of pink letters...each with an invitation inside for all her friends and more. "All I have to do now is deliver one to each of my friends...and leave one for all the other citizens across the island. The more who join, the greater the party will be!~"

With all the preparations ready for informing possible party guests, Pinkie Pie sets off across the Golden City of Tambelon...dropping a letting into each and every mailbox she passes by. Each and every invitation inside the pink envelope is sprinkled with glitter and fancy words; No doubt Pinkie has plenty in storage for when it comes to upcoming parties each week or so.

"Once I finish delivering all the invitations to all the ponies and more of Tambelon City, I'll move on to the next town or area...but not before giving my MOST SPECIAL invitations to my BESTEST FRIENDS IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!!" Pinkie assures herself in her own mind, while knowing that since Fluttershy is already coming...only Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash remain.

**************************************************

Less than an hour after filling every mailbox with a lovely pink letter that holds an invitation to Cheese Sandwich's birthday party, Pinkie Pie comes to a halt at the great gates that lead into the inner area where the great, golden towards of Tambelon Palace stand tall...almost reaching the cloud city of Cumulai that roams night above the island itself.

"Well, time to give my invitation to Twilight and her family...then it will be on to-" Pinkie says to herself while trotting up to the palace gates...only to be stopped by a pair of Royal Pony Guards stationed at each end.

"Halt!" The white unicorn stallion barks.

"Who goes there?!" The white coated pegasai mare demands an answer from the pink pony before her.

"Oh! Hello! I am here to deliver a letter to the Princess!" Pinkie informs with a smile, "Tell her Pinkie Pie wishes to invite her to a party today~"

The guards look onto each other to ponder that request by this pink pony that all know to be Pinkie Pie...and a close friend to Princess Twilight. However, they shake their heads and the pair of four eyes turn back to face the single pair awaiting their answer...which is sadly a:

"Request: Denied!" Both guards state, "The Princess is in an important meeting! Nopony is to disturb her!"

    "But-"

"Leave now!!" The guards hold their spears tight, ready to point if it comes to it.

"O...Okay...." Pinkie mutters, but takes another look at the letter she holds in her left hoof, "Could you...at least give this to Twilight when she is available?"

"That...we can do!" The mare guard replies, taking the letter from Pinkie and placing it safely in the small pouch she carries on her side.

"Thank you!~" Pinkie Pie expresses her gratitude, and turns away to hop on to the next location where one of her other best friends lives and works.

**************************************

"Hello, Mr. Butler~" Pinkie Pie greets the well dressed and groomed stallion standing before her, who happens to be one of the servants living and working within the mansion owned by Lady Rarity and her family, "Is Rarity in? I want to give her an invitation to-"

"The Lady and her husband are busy with their work...but I will relay this message and letter to them once they have the time. Thank you." The butler interrupts and takes possession of the letter with his magical horn, then shuts the door upon returning inside.

Pinkie Pie stands at the doorstep of the great golden manor, decorated with colorful gems, and feels a little disappointed to be denied entry once again, "Hmmm...I wonder why Rarity is too busy to see me? Oh well! So long as they get the invitation, everything will be okie-dokie-lokie~"

With her business completed, Pinkie Pie pulls the cord on her party vest...causing around ten or so balloons of various colors to appear and inflate with hot air. With the strings wrapped around the body of the little pink pony, the balloons levitate into the air...taking Pinkie Pie high into the air towards the cloud city of Cumulai...and towards the next pony on her list to invite.

    "Wheeeeee-Hehehehehe~"

*****************************************

"You mean...Rainbow Dash is not here?" Pinkie Pie gasps in shock when she asks the Wonderbolts before her if they have seen their captain...and her family too.

"Sorry, Ms. Pie...but Captain Rainbow Dash is not here at the moment." A young pegasai in her blue and yellow Wonderbolt colors sadly informs the best friend of her commanding officer, "We can relay a message if this is urgent."

"Okie-Dokie!" Pinkie smiles, turning over the pink letter to the Wonderbolt hovering before her, "Please give her message: Cheese Sandwich is coming to Tambelon...and it is HIS BIRTHDAY!!!~~"

"Really?! That's wonderful!!" The young mare expresses, gently taking possession of the letter she promises to give to Captain Rainbow Dash...or even Captain Soarin once they are found, "Your message will be delivered safely, I promise you that."

"A promise? As in a Pinkie Promise?"

"Uh...well...sure." The orange-coated mare nods her head in agreement, and uses her hoof to form the promise in the correct way, "Cross my heart, Hope to Fly...Stick a cupcake in my eye!"

"Yay!! Its a promise then~" Pinkie smiles onto the pony who has made a promise that can never be broken...then floats on and away from the Wonderbolt Academy...destined for one more stop before joining her sisters in Tambelon City Park to set up the party decorations and more.

***************************************

"Let me guess: Applejack is not home or is to busy to talk right now?" Pinkie Pie wildly guesses this possible theory, while standing face to face with the great red stallion named Big Macintosh.

"Eeyup." The Head Farmer of all Applelulu replies sadly, with his usual one-word response.

"Do you know when she will return?"

"Nnope." Big Mac replies with a shrug of his front shoulders.

"Okay. Well, can you see to it that she receives this letter pertaining to the Cheese Sandwich Birthday Party...which I hope to see you and your family all there? We will have so much fun that it will be the most fun of any fun time that anypony can have fun on! It will be FUNERIFIC!!!"

"Hehehehe. Eeyup!" Big Mac replies and accepts the letting, promising to turn the letter over to his younger sister once she returns from wherever it is she has gone.

"Thank you so much, Big Mac! See you at the PARTY~" Pinkie Pie expresses her happiness and floats away from the farmhouse; Her balloons and her swimming-in-air takes her out of the farming community of Applelulu...and back on towards Tambelon City.

*****************************************

Landing safely upon the soft, green grass that lies before her pink hooves, Pinkie Pie smiles when she sees so much before her within Tambelon City Park: Trees where birds make their nests, bushes that may hold some delicious berries, a playground for little fillies and colts to play on...and of course the picnic areas where anypony can enjoy a lovely lunch or snack they may bring.

However, not too far from where the excited pink pony stands, Pinkie spots her two sisters already setting up some of the decorations for the party. Happy as the always-happy pony she is, Pinkie Pie skips on over to the picnic area to join her family and finish setting up before Cheese Sandwich and the other party guests arrive.

    "La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la~"

"Hiya Pinkie~" The two Pie Sisters, Limestone and Marble, welcome their little sister to the park area where they have all their stuff gathered: The chest full of party decorations, a nice cake made in the last few hours, plus a karaoke machine for singing and other music.

"Hello~" Pinkie replies to the two mares she loves so much, "I finished sending out ALL the invitations around Tambelon...including those for my bestest friends in the whole wide world!~"

"That's good, Pinkie. We just got everything moved here from the ice cream parlor. Well...all that we could find and use," Marble informs her little sister, while working on setting up the few balloons and party streamers there are.

"That's okay. There should be more of everything in my Party Chest that I always-"

"Actually, Pinkie..." Limestone interrupts her sister with some breaking news to inform her of, "We already looked through your chest...and found only what you see hanging up now; In other words, I think you may be out of the usual party decorations."

Pinkie gasps in shock when she hears that word: Out of Stock. Pinkie dashes on over to her special party treasure chest and looks inside...finding random items as always, but very little to no party decorations, "That's...that's impossible!"

"I'm sorry, Pinkie Pie...but I think you may have used up most of your decorations at the last party the other week." Marble reminds her sister of the exciting party she threw for the dragon Garble and his family at the Scaly Spring Hills. "Did you remember to stock up afterwards?"

"Oops...." Pinkie mutters, blushing to how she did forget to resupply at the local party store, "Oh well. There is time, so I can just on over to the store and buy some more before-"

"Uh...Pinkie. Its Saturday. The Party Supply Store is closed on the weekends."

"Oh...yeah...." Pinkie sadly remembers, "Well...I guess a few streamers around on the trees will do, along with a couple of balloons. I mean...we still have a BIG cake and plenty of food for the guests to eat, right?"

"Well...we did make the best cake we could in only a few hours." Marble informs, pointing over at the table where a triple stacked cake sits, "It might be enough for around...twenty or so."

"Only twenty? But...there are so many who may be coming." Pinkie shakes her head, seeing how the cake might not feed enough mouths.

"We did the best we could, Pinkie." Limestone says, "We only had less than a day to do this anyway...so whatever happens...well, happens I guess."

"Yeah...." Marble agrees, knowing that while it may not be as big of a party now...or might not get bigger later on...but hopes that it will be a fun one all the same, "Lets hurry and finish setting things up for Cheese. He may arrive any minute now."

Pinkie Pie sits on the grass for a moment...feeling very down-in-the-dirt: Even though this was a party planned in less than a day, with very few decorations or such to be had, she begins to wonder if all of this will be good enough for the stallion she admires so much and shares so many qualities with.

"Pinkie Pie?" Limestone and Marble say the name of their little sister, nudging her sides gently, "You alright?"

"I...uh...well...I guess." Pinkie snaps out of her train-of-though, and stands back up on her four hooves, "You're right. Lets get to work~" She smiles, although faking her happiness right now.

The three mares return to their tasks of setting up the few decorations they have, the plates and the cake on the table, the karaoke machine by the tree...and a few party hats found. Although small in numbers, both the ponies present and the party items, Pinkie Pie and her sisters hope that all this will wash over and once the guests and the birthday stallion arrive, everything will be going their way.

*****************************************

With only less than half an hour passing since the party setting up began, Pinkie and her sisters are able to sit themselves down on the picnic tables...and are able to rest for a bit after working hard at finishing getting everything up and ready. Even with the few items they had to begin with, the area of the park they claimed for this afternoon looks very party like for around thirty people.

However...while it may seem like a party place to Limestone and Marble, it does not for Pinkie. Since nopony else has arrived since they began setting up...she now fears nopony is going to show.

"Well...it looks like everything is ready...." Marble says with assurance.

"Ready...for what?" Pinkie asks in a negative way, "Nopony else is here...and...I wanted this to be a BIG surprise party for Cheese...."

Limestone and Marble feel sad for their little sister, and do wonder themselves why not even one showed up for this party. But then again, less than a day's notice might be the reason for it. "We're sorry, Pinkie. We know how much Cheese means to you, as does this birthday party for him, but...not everything works out the way we want sometimes," Marble explains, scooting closer to her sister and placing her hoof upon her shoulder.

"I mean...we can still have a good party with Cheese...since you will be here for him. That's what matters most, right?" Limestone adds, saying something that has more meaning than all the parties in the world.

    "I...I guess...."

"Pinkie Pie?" A yellow coated earth pony on approach calls the name of the mare he cares for, wearing his sombrero upon his puffy brown mane, and a quilt on his back.

"Cheese!" Pinkie gasps and says the name of the stallion she loves...and gallops on all fours over to him, throwing her front legs around his neck, "You're Here~" She squeals while hugging him.

"Indeed I am~" The party loving stallion expresses, wrapping one front leg around the body of the pink pony, "Sorry I sent you that letter so late...but I still hope we can have ourselves a wonderful birthday party together~" Cheese pulls out a party horn and blows it, chuckling to how much he loves to party like Pinkie.

Although so thrilled to have her coltfriend here to celebrate his birthday, Pinkie's smile turns into a frown and her ears flop down beside her ears, "I...I...." She mutters, sitting herself down on the ground due to the shame she feeling in her heart, "I'm...sorry."

"Sorry? Sorry for what, Pinkie Pie?"

"Your...party...." Pinkie sighs and points behind her, to the meager party set up for him: A few picnic tables, some streamers and balloons, a small karaoke machine...and a cake with the words "Happy Birthday, Cheese" on it. But the one thing Pinkie is ad about the most, is how only her two sisters are there to celebrate with them...and nopony else. "I'm...sorry. I tried, but its not as big as I wanted it to be...for you."

Cheese is surprised by how small everything is, even the number of ponies attending. While every party he has thrown, even those thrown with the help of Pinkie, this one which is his own seems so meager. However, instead of a frown to show disappointment and disapproval, Cheese Sandwhich's lips form a smile, "Its...PERFECT!!"

Pinkie's ears perk up and is shocked by this reaction that she never imagined would come to be, "It...It is?"

"Of course, Pinkie." Cheese reassures his marefriend, "Here I thought you would have been too busy at Sugarcane Lane this weekend to plan any parties for me at all. But...even in such short time, you set up a nice little party for you and me...and your sisters of course."

"Well...yes. I wanted to...throw you a big...party...but it is not as big as the ones we would throw for others," Pinkie says, feeling a little sad to why most of Tambelon, including her own friends, are not here for this.

"Oh Pinkie," Cheese smiles and places his hoof under her chin, so that they may look into the other's eyes, "I know we both LOVE to throw parties for everypony we know...because that is what we love. But if there is anything I have learned from you, my inspiration, or from the years of being a party-loving and party-throwing pony is this: It is not about the decorations, the cake, or even the presents. A Birthday Party is about celebrating the day we were born...and sharing it with the ponies we love most: Family...and those we hold dear in our hearts." Cheese blushes once he says this, showing how much he cares for the pink pony before him.

This such kind and thoughtful words spoken for her ears alone to hear, Pinkie Pie's frown turns into a warm smile and she blushes right back at the stallion she loves more than any party or treats in all of Tambelon and beyond, "You...You are so right, Cheese. I guess all this time I was working too hard to throw you a party in such short time. But in the end, I should have realized from what you said in your letter "I hope we can spend the day together" that you wanted a party with just me."

Cheese chuckles and continues to blush for Pinkie, "Well, I would have minded a small party with a few friends and family...as in with your sisters who helped you set up no doubt...but yes. I was hoping we could go out to dinner or something later this evening...as in..." Cheese clears his throat and whispers, "Pinkie Pie? Would you like to...go on a date with me?" Cheese speaks as in a way to ask a beautiful mare as Pinkie out for his birthday.

Shocked and surprised to hear such wonderful words spoken to her like this, Pinkie feels her heart beating fast as she answers her coltfriend, "YES!! YES I WILL GO OUT TO DINNER WITH YOU!!!~" She speaks so loud and giggles with another red blush on her pink cheeks.

Cheese feels so happy to have his birthday wish come true: Spending time with his marefriend; After so many parties both have thrown in the last few years, Cheese Sandwich is thrilled to take a break from such and be with the mare he loves...and hopes to always be with from now on and onto the future.

"Awww...." Both Marble and Limestone mutter in admiration to their little sister going out on a date with Cheese. Since they have been spending time together and dating on an occasion or more in the last year, both sisters could not help but listen in and find how adorable a couple these two ponies make.

Pinkie Pie and Cheese share a warm hug that seems to last for a minute or two. Their love for partying is nothing compared to the love they both share with each other. Soon, the hug comes to an end and the happy couple turn towards the picnic tables, trotting alongside together.

"Now, lets go and have ourselves a wonderful birthday party, just us four, before we have our date tonight~" Pinkie suggests, still in the mood to party with her coltfriend.

"Sounds like a super-duper-awesome-amazing idea, Pinkie Pie!!" Cheese giggles upon agreeing with his marefriend.

All of a sudden, before the party-loving pair can reach the picnic table to enjoy some cake or other treats, a large group of ponies, zebras, buffalo, changelings, and more pop up out of nowhere...all wearing party hats and throwing party streamers all over the place. They them all shout together in unison, "SURPRISE!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHEESE SANDWICH!!!"

Pinkie, Cheese, Limestone, and Marble are all surprised by this sudden...surprise...and watch as all their friends come out from hiding to welcome the birthday pony and his date.

"You...you guys made it!!" Pinkie joyfully says.

"Well of course, sugarcube!" Applejack replies.

"We would never miss this party for the world!" Rainbow Dash states, blowing into her own party horn.

"Since you and Cheese have always thrown us such wonderful parties for years...." Princess Twilight speaks, only to allow the next best friend beside her continue it.

"...we though that WE could throw you both a surprise party." Rarity reveals, and points all around to the party guests with their own party decorations to set up, presents to place on the table, and more cake and treats they baked themselves for such an occasion.

"We hope you like this, Pinkie. We went through so much...just for you and Cheese," Fluttershy concludes, supporting her best friend now and forever.

From the beautiful sight of so many ponies and more present to celebrate Cheese's birthday...which explains to why nopony showed up early and why they could not be found...watery tears of joy fill the eyes of Pinkie Pie. She throws her front legs all around her five best friends, hugging them all so close, " YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!~~"

"We love you too, Pinkie Pie!" The five mares, who have been best friends for what seems like ever, reply with a warm hug of their own.

Once the hug comes to an end, the girls lift her up in the air so that everypony around can see her. Then, Pinkie shouts loud and clear for all to hear, "COME ON, EVERYPONY!! LETS PARTY!!!!"

"YAY!!!!" Everypony shouts as they turn on the music to begin the party officially.

Every pony and more rise up and celebrate this birthday party that they will never forget:

The ponies dance around, play the games such as hit the pinata or pin the tail on the pony, or enjoy the treats that are found all over the tables. The zebras stand a conga line and dance to the music. The buffalo join the zebras and help make the line even longer. The changelings fly around and enjoy the cool punch pool that they themselves set up for all.

The young colts and fillies, which include the Yearling Six themselves, have some fun at the petting pen where some sheep, puppies, and even Gummy can be found to pet and play with. Fluttershy helps manage the petting pin and is happy to see her Angel Bunny and his family be apart of it too; Not to mention Winona and her puppies, Owlicious the Owl, Aquila the Golden Eagle, Tank the Turtle, Rocky the Rockpuppy, Opal and her kittens.

Applejack, Applebloom, Big Mac, Cheerilee, and Granny Smith play their own instruments to help liven the music up and make it even grander. Now to mention the dozens of treats they brought with them for all to try; Each and every one has an apple mixed within, since the apples grown in Applelulu are the best found all over.

Rainbow Dash, Scootaloo, and Soarin fly high with their Wonderbolt recruits, putting on a performance for the birthday stallion and his marefriend. Everypony is in awe by their outstanding flying and the display they put on.

Rarity and Spike dance together, while Sweetie Belle and and Shammy dance with whomever they find among the others dancing to the music.

Princess Twilight and Prince Courageous enjoy the fine food and even volunteer to do some karaoke together...just like they use to do back in Equestria years ago.

While the party continues on, with Cheese and Pinkie being the center of attention, the former turns to face the mare he loves and kiss her cheek, "Thank you...for the Best Birthday Party I ever had, Pinkie Pie."

Pinkie blushes bright and kisses the nose of her coltfriend, "You are welcome!~" She giggles and then says, "We still have our date tonight, so lets have SOME FUN UNTIL THEN!!~~"

"SOUNDS FUNERIFIC!!!" Cheese states as she and Pinkie return to eating all the treats they can, singing together, swimming in the punch pool...and of course, sharing the delicious cakes that everypony brought. In the end, while the party may not have started out great...it has become one that all shall remember for years to come...especially by the party-loving couple who plan to stick together now and forever.

Because with Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich together, it will always be double the fun...and double the laughter.

Haha, that was pretty funny and cute. The fact that Fluttershy's own stare scares her make no sense, but if THAT's the biggest problem, then the story is pretty good.
