"Alright, my little crusaders..." The brilliant and inspirational Scoutmaster of the Tambelon Cutie Mark Crusaders, Marshall, announces to the near fifty or so fillies, colts, dragonlings, and younglings that all sit together in the auditorium of the CMC Headquarters, "While each and everyone of you has made such excellent progress, I have a special assignment for you all."

"Yay!~" Every young scout cheers as they proudly wear their red and greed sashes that holds the various merit badges earned from all their activities and adventures in the CMC.

With a warm smile for her eager little scouts, Marshall speaks into the microphone clearly so all can hear her and the assignment she is to give, "I want everypony here to write a report..."

"Aww..." The sounds of young cheering turns to moaning as the mention of writing reports reaches the ears of the little CMC scouts.

"Now now, let's not have any of that," The whitish coated mare informs her various scouts as she stands tall in her own green uniform that only a certified Scoutmaster of the CMC Scouts has to honor of wearing, "It will be a simple project: All you have to do is interview a family member or friend of the family, and ask them about their experiences that led to when the day came when their cutie marks first appeared upon their flanks. In short, I wish for your all to discover a little history on cutie marks."

"Yay!" The scouts cheer once more once they hear of the excitement of learning how another pony, particularly a family member, discovered their special talent long ago that earned them their cutie marks that will forever shine upon their flanks for all to see and know of what they can do.

"Alright, my little scouts...this assignment is due our next meeting, which will be next weekend. So, when everypony here goes home today, be sure to start your assignment right away; The sooner...the better." Marshall suggests, knowing many of them will have school work that needs getting done, so hopefully her young scouts will tackle this assignment fast so that they can all be another step closer towards their next merit badges...and their cutie marks.

"Who are you guys going to do your assignments on?" The cute little purple unicorn named Delicacy asks her best friends once the speech is over and they await for the closing ceremony to begin. Although her love for scouting is great, her study of history is usually not.

"Probably my mommy and daddy," Starlight, the young princess of Tambelon, answers as she brushes her purple streak mane behind her head, "I have heard their stories before...but would like to hear it again and write it all down as my own assignment."

"Who? Well duh...my awesomer-than-awesome Mom and Dad; The Captain of the Wonderbolts are the only ones whom I am going to ask...since they are the coolest in all of Tambelon," Gust, the prideful pegasus colt, boasts around as he always does; A trait he inherited from her mother no doubt.

"Easy, Gusty..." the pinkish red earth filly named Candy so orders to her best friend, then turns to her other best friend to answer the question, "Ah've got plenty in mah family ta ask on how dey got dere cutie marks."

"My mother and aunt have their own marks from their youth..." The young rhyming zebra filly called Shani informs her little unicorn friend, "...which shall my the discovery all da more sweeter truth."

"Well...I uh..." The young changeling prince mutters, "My kind do not earn cutie marks...but...maybe a friend of my mom's will have a...story to tell."

Delicacy smiles at her five wonderful friends and is so happy to hear how each and every one of them has a family member that they can look up to and ask on how they received their own cutie marks. Adjusting her glasses ever so slightly, the little unicorn smiles once more and informs them of whom she will be asking, "Well...my mommy has always been gone on about how she earned her cutie mark...whenever something involving fashion and gems comes up. Maybe...maybe she can help me."

The six best friends, minus Delicacy, all know that this assignment is going to be a fun piece of cake...which is something they usually find at Sugarcane Lane. With so much to look forward to in the future CMC activities, the Yearling Six feel ready as ever to learn more about cutie marks and how the families they know and love earned theirs, while one hopes to get it all over with.

"Okay, my little crusaders," Scoutmaster Marshall announces, quieting all those that sit below the stage in the audience, "Before we wrap up today's meeting and head on home, let us all rise as we recite the Cutie Mark Crusader Code!~"

Every young scout rises to their hooves or claws, salute with their right...and turn their attention to the red and blue CMC flag as the flag carriers lower the flag in order to conclude this meeting:

"We are the Cutie Mark Crusaders!"
"On a quest to find out who we are!"
"And we will never stop the journey!"
"Not until we have our Cutie Marks!"

"But...mommy..." Complains the young daughter of a very wealthy pony and dragon, "Why...?"

"Delicacy, darling..." The beautiful white coated mare tries her best to calm her fussy little filly as she works ever so hard to brush and tidy up her mane while staring at it in the mirror, "Your father and I have a very important party to attend tonight, and I am afraid we cannot bring you with us...since the hour will be way past your bedtime if you were to come...which you cannot since it is adults only, I'm afraid."

    "But-"

"Delicacy, that is enough!" Rarity snaps gently at her daughter, while trying to put on the finishing touches of her make-up, "I simply do not have time to argue and must finish getting ready before the party starts at seven sharp; I cannot afford to go if so much as a hair is out of place. I must hurry! I Must!"

"Ummm...mommy?" The young unicorn filly tries to speak up when she notices the time upon the antique grandfather clock that rests against the wall nearby, "It's only 5:03..."

Rarity's eyes gaze upon her own clock atop her dresser, but merely clears her throat in order to explain her reasons for preparing far in advance, "I am aware of that, my dear...but a lady must always prepare early in order to ensure she can make a grand entrance with grace...and beauty~"

Delicacy is in awe to how lovely her mother looks already: Her gorgeous, curled purple mane; her long, pretty eyelashes; The scent of her perfume that is sweeter than a dozen flowers combined; Finally, the radiant dress that the wonderful mother has designed for this very night...and spent the last few days preparing for all this, "Wow mommy...you are the most beautiful pony in all of Tambelon."

Once these kind words reach her white ears, Rarity blinks a tear and is so happy to hear her own precious daughter give such a wonderful compliment, "Oh darling..." The lovely white unicorn, who is said by many to the most beautiful pony in all of Tambelon...right behind Princess Twilight Sparkle...gives her little filly a warm hug and a kiss upon her cheek, "Thank you ever so much."

As Rarity holds her young daughter close, the one thing she knows is that despite all of the wealth and fame that she and her husband, Spike, have earned in the past years since they moved to the island, the one thing that is the most important of it all...is her precious daughter whom she loves with all her heart...and knows she will grow to be as beautiful and graceful as she.

"I love you, mommy," Delicacy whispers as she snuggles close in her mother's warm embrace, which always brings a warm glow inside her heart.

"I love you too, my little Delicacy," The beautiful white unicorn whispers back as she continues to enjoy holding her entire life and future close.

    "Um...mommy?"

    "Yes, my little filly?"

Delicacy is unsure how to ask this, but takes in a breath of air...which is more of her mother's perfume actually...and speaks up, "When...when I grow up...will I be...as beautiful...and pretty...as you?"

The only response the lovely Rarity gives is a light giggle with such admiration to hear how her own daughter wishes to be more like her mother. Even with so many passed down traits from the beautiful and elegant pony, along with a few from the handsome purple and green dragon, the loving mother wishes nothing more than to teach her daughter the ways of fashion and designing. But for now, Rarity must begin with ensuring her little filly that her own beauty is already present and before her, "Oh Delicacy...you are already as pretty as me."

"I am...?" Delicacy questions softly, while turning her attention to the mirror and then to her mother's makeup kit, "But...I'm nowhere near as pretty as you, mommy."

"Oh, perish the thought, darling..." Rarity assures her doubting daughter and happens to notice where her eyes are fixed on...which may help answer a little to why her precious filly is asking such, "You look as pretty as I was when I was but a young filly...and I did not wear makeup until I reached my teenage years."

The young filly understands and had a feeling her mother would politely refuse her to wear any sort of beauty products, "I...I know...but..."

"You are young, my sweet little filly...and you have such amazing beauty already. I truly mean it," Rarity coos her precious daughter as she holds her close...telling her the very truth that this lovely mare sees upon her face and within her own heart. "I promise you that in a few years from now, I will personally give you a makeover; One that will be yours to wear for years to come."

"Oh mommy...thank you so much! I love you!" Delicacy squeals in delight to the sounds of her very first makeover...some time from now, but something to look forward to.

"I love you too, my sweet little unicorn," Rarity whispers and then decides to give her little Delicacy an early experience, if only slight and simple, "What say that once I finish prettying myself up, I give you a new mane style...along with a little perfume to make yourself smell as pretty as your mother?"

"I would love that!!" Delicacy squeals once again and giggles with excitement, while bouncing in place; This young filly is so filled with joy that she is to receive a slight makeover this night before her parents leave for their party. After losing her chance to sit down with her mother and talk about how she discovered her cutie mark, this will "make up" for it by a long shot.

*********************************************

"Honey...it's getting late and we need to be on our way!~" The great green and purple dragon calls out sweetly to his wife as the hour grows after six o'clock. All while he stands in the main hall by the front door to their estate, wearing one of his finer suits that his beloved mare crafted for just him, Spike wonders when the foalsitter they hired for tonight will arrive.

Suddenly, the glamorous and radiant Rarity appears atop the stairs, wearing her finest red dress and richest beauty products one can buy here on Tambelon. With such grace and beauty in every step as she makes her way down the stairs in her glass slippers, the lovely white mare...with her little filly following behind...arrives at the bottom where she poses for her deeply blushing husband, "We...have arrived~"

The feeling of awe and amazement fill the mind and heart of this kind hearted and generous dragon as he witnesses his beauty wife and his precious daughter appear before him...shining in all their glory and grace. Even seeing his precious foal with a pretty new manestyle makes him all the more proud that she is so much like her mother and will be so much more when she discovers her destiny, "You look so beauty, my darling Rarity."

"Awww..." Rarity's cheeks turn red as she walks up to her handsome dragon husband, and places a loving kiss upon his cheek, "Thank you, my dear Spiky-Wikey."

As the fully grown, but pony-sized, dragon blushes right back to the feel of his wife's sweet, wet kiss upon his cheek, he turns his attention to his daughter, who is still posing a little...while showing off her new mane style, "You look beautiful too, my little Delicacy."

With a small blush upon her own cheeks, the little purple unicorn filly trots over to her father and nuzzles his scaly chest, "Thank you, daddy. Mommy made my mane look as pretty as hers. She even let me wear a little perfume."

Spike takes a small sniff and can tell of another type of scent around other than the sweet one coming from his beloved wife, which is definitely coming from his daughter, "She sure did. You are my precious little daughter...and I love you, Delicacy."

Delicacy smiles with such warmth in her heart as both her mother and father share a warm family hug with her. With such loving and generous parents that will forever be here for her and raise her to be as smart and beautiful as both her father and mother, the young unicorn has so much to look forward in the next few years to come.

Just then, the doorbell rings and the warm hug shared by the two unicorns and one dragon is brought to an end. "Oh, that must be your foalsitter for tonight, Delicacy." Spike informs as he gently breaks the hug with his wife and foal, then watches as one of their servants enters the main hall to open the door for their masters.

"Who will it be, Daddy?" The young, eager filly asks her father to whom it will be that will watch over her tonight, "Is it Ms. Pinkie Pie?"

"I'm afraid not, darling," Rarity informs sadly, "My good friend Pinkie will be attending the party with her sisters...since she is the one who helped decorate and set everything up."

Delicacy understands, and feels sad too that she will be missing a party that Pinkie has set up; Her last few birthdays were thrown by Tambelon's number one party planner and nothing is more exciting than attending that which Pinkie Pie has prepared for some lucky filly or colt...or even somepony older.

The front double doors are opened and the one mare that is to standing upon the "Welcome" mat is none other than the beautiful and talented singer of Tambelon...and Rarity's younger sister: Sweetie Belle. With her lovely pink and purple mare flowing down, along with her beautiful green eyes that sparkle as bright as the starts in the night sky, the young famous mare walks right in and greets her loving family, "Good Evening, Rarity...Spike...Delicacy."

"Aunt Sweetie Belle!!" Delicacy squeals when she is so happy to see her favorite relative show up tonight, which can only mean one thing, "Are you...foalsitting me tonight?"

"You bet I am~" The lovely mare replies with her sweet voice as she opens up her forelegs to welcome her little niece into a warm embrace, "I've missed you so much and am so thrilled to have some time off from my career to spend time with you, little Delicacy."

The young filly embraces her aunt close and smiles with such warmth as she can smell the sweetness of Sweetie's perfume that has such a similar scent to that of the fragrant that she has on currently, "I've missed you too!" Delicacy knows that tonight will be even better knowing that she is going to have some sweet and elite time with her beautiful and favorite aunt in the whole wide world.

After the hugging end and both Rarity and Spike share a warm hug with their younger sister...or sister-in-law in the latter's case...and then turn their attention towards the front door...and the jewel encrusted carriage that awaits for them outside on the front that will be their ride to the special party occurring tonight.

"We will be back in a few hours...so make sure Delicacy is in bed by then, Sweetie." Rarity in forms her sweet, little sister as she places the last of her earrings on.

"And no junk food." Spike adds in, wanting to be sure his daughter has a healthy meal tonight.

"Don't you worry about a thing," Sweetie Belle reassures her family, "Delicacy and I will have a fun time tonight, and everything will be just fine. I promise."

With that promise made and sealed, Rarity and Spike bid their daughter a warm goodbye and goodnight, then trot their way out the door, down the stairs, and into the carriage that is bound for a pleasant ride this evening. Delicacy and Sweetie Belle wave goodbye to the beautiful pony and the handsome dragon as they ride off into the distance, passed the golden gate of their mansion's front and into the streets of the city of Tambelon...which is ablaze with street lights and stars that sparkle upon within the heavens.

Once the parents are gone, Delicacy turns her attention to the tall, white mare that stands next to her...and smiles. Sweetie Belle smiles right back and they squeal like little fillies...and rush on inside to have some fun for the next few hours...which will involve activities that only young mares can enjoy.

********************************************

"So...what shall we do first, Delicacy?" Sweetie Belle asks her little niece as they walk together from the main hall to the living room, while carrying her small saddlebag upon her sides...which happen to contain a few items that will make this night all the more fun for them both.

"Well...what did you bring with you, Aunt Sweetie Belle?" The eager little filly asks upon noticing the bag and hearing a few things making rattling sounds.

"Oh this?" The white mare giggles, "This is what I brought for us to enjoy for the next few hours." Once Sweetie and Delicacy arrive in the living room and sit upon the fancy rug that rests in the center, the former magically pulls out of her saddlebag some brushes, hoofpolish, and some other stuff that the little filly might find interesting, "What say you and I brush each other's manes...and paint our hooves while we talk?"

Delicacy has always enjoyed these kinds of activities, but does not get to partake in such often. But, with the night still early and with nothing to do but get all girly with her favorite aunt, the little unicorn looks up to the bigger one and smiles big, "I would love to!!"

"Wonderful!~" Sweetie Belle expresses and just has the feeling both she and her little niece are going to enjoy this pleasant evening where it is just them and nopony else...

    ...Until the doorbell rings again.

"Oh...their here!~" Sweetie squeals once more to the sounds of blissful bell chimes that ring throughout most of the mansion...including the decorative living room and the soft rug to which said mare now stands upon once she rises up from where she sat, "I say they have arrived just in time."

"Who's here, Aunt Sweetie Belle?" Delicacy questions upon seeing the white mare all excited and leaving the living room to answer the door. Following behind, the young unicorn wonders who is at the door that has her aunt all thrilled as she was earlier this evening, "Who is it?"

"Why, none other than..." Sweetie begins and once she arrives at the double doors, she magically opens them both...with three different teenage mares standing together, "...my three best friends in the whole wide world~"

Delicacy gasps in surprise when she is now in the presence of not only her aunt's three best friends, but the original Cutie Mark Crusaders that started the CMC Scouts years ago; The young unicorn filly who is proud to be apart of the very group her aunt helped formed now has a change to talk with them all together...which is rare nowadays but should make tonight even more interesting and fun than it was already planned to be.

"Nice pad, Sweetie." The orange coated mare with the long purple mane compliments on her home of her best friend's sister, "It sure seems nice to take a break from spending so much time at the Wonderbolt Academy and just have a night with best friends."

"Thanks, Scootaloo," Sweetie Belle praises the compliment and is happy to have her most awesome friend here, and welcomes her and the others inside, "Come on in."

"Tanks, Sweetie. Nice of ya ta invite us over," The yellow mare with the long red mane named Applebloom replies politely as she sets her hat over on the hat rack resting by the wall nearby.

"Yeah, we really appreciate this," The green coated mare with the lovely blue eyes and brushed mane expresses her gratitude, "I sure hope your sister will not mind us staying for a little while...to keep you and your niece company."

"Not at all, Shammy," Sweetie reassures her best friend who has as much an amazing talent for playing the flute as she does with her voice, "I'm sure Rairty will not mind...so long as Delicacy does not?" The lovely white mare turns to her little niece and wonders what her thoughts are, "What say you, Delicacy? You alright with my best friends all joining in with our manebrushing, hoof painting, and story telling?"

Before the young filly can answer, Scootaloo makes a small gag face, "Ewww...no way anypony is painting my-" She is soon interrupted by her friend Applebloom, who nudges her...reminding the orange mare with the big mouth that they are guests in the house of said filly and should respect a fellow friend and crusaders, "I mean...sounds like fun~"

"Yay!!" Delicacy squeals once more to the sound of having three more to add to the fun, "Let's get started!"

The four original Cutie Mark Crusaders all thank the little filly for welcoming them into her home, and they all move on down towards the living room where they can all enjoy a little mare/filly time for themselves. With enough magazines, hoofpolish, brushes, and so much more...this night is going to be one to remember.

Teenage Cutie Mark Crusaders by Mufflinka

**********************************************

For the next half, the four young mares and one little filly spend their time together sitting around in the living room, reading a magazine or just sharing exciting conversations with good friends. Some are brushing their own manes or that of their friends, while giving them a hooficure with polish to come right after.

Shammy, with her magical abilities only a unicorn can possess, levitates her green hairbrush and brushes her mane ever so slightly...wishing it to look as pretty as her mother, Grace, and her sister-n-law Twilight. Even though she has been seen to be beautiful in the eyes of her family, including her big brother Courageous, the young unicorn tries her very best to keep herself as pretty as possible for that day when she meets a very special somepony.

Applebloom may not care much for makeovers or such, but nothing beats a good mane brushing after a long day...or week even...of working out in the fields of Applelulu. Bucking apple trees and carrying the barrels full back and forth is very tiring...but to spend an evening with friends while relaxing is all the young mare needs to unwind and recharge for the next week.

Sweetie Belle levitates two brushes in order to brush both her lovely double colored mane, and the mane of her little niece...while resting herself upon the rug. Soon, she pulls out her special hoofpolish and begins to paint both her hooves and Delicacy's...making this night more girly for them which makes it all the more fun.

Scootaloo reads the latest issue of "Daring Do" and hopes to avoid all that girly stuff. As much as she enjoys a hooficure once in a while, painting her hooves is something she tries best to stay clear from. However, once she notices Delicacy turning her gaze towards the nervous orange mare, Scoots has a feeling her time of "hiding" is about to end...

"May I do your hooves, Ms. Scootaloo?" Delicacy pleas with her green puppy eyes giving their full power.

The worrying pegasus pony gulps and tries to think up an excuse. Wearing her Wonderbolt recruit outfit would have been a good idea so her hooves would be covered...except she left it at the academy, "Why...?" Scootaloo asks herself as she finds no escape from this...especially with all her friends watching and awaiting her answer.

With a heavy sigh and no other excuse to think of without hurting Delicacy's feelings, Scootaloo puts her book down and nods, "Okay..."

"Yay!!" Delicacy smiles and digs through Sweetie Belle's bag to find the right color for her friend and founder of the CMC Scouts of Tambelon...and beyond. After a short moment of searching, the unicorn pulls out a small jar of hoofpolish labeled "Wonderbolt Blue", "Will this color work?"

Scootaloo raises her eyebrow and turns her eyes to Sweetie Belle...feeling that particular hoofpolish was in there for a reason and not a purely coquincedence. "I uh...okay. I guess that color would be something a Wonderbolt-in-training could wear."

As the little filly and her aunt prepare the polish for their tomboyish flying friend, Applebloom and Shammy smirk and giggle a little. For the first time in what seems to be forever since they grew into their teenage years, this will be the first time they will get to see their scooter riding show off of a friend get her hooves painted.

"What's so funny?" Scootaloo snaps a little as she is asked to lay still while Sweetie and Delicacy get to work on her hooves.

"Oh nothing, Scoots," Applebloom reassures her best friend, who will still be considered tough and strong after this passes, "It's just...we have not seen ya do something so daring like dis...since..."

"Since when you did that amazing set of stunts and tricks that earned you your cutie mark," Shammy finishes her cowgirl friend's sentence.

"Oh yeah...!" Sweetie remembers that day and also how they all earned their cutie marks shortly right after, "Why don't you tell us the tale, Scoots. I am sure Delicacy would love to hear about how awesome you were."

With a hint of pride in her from being asked to remenance about her glory days, which helps take her mind off of her hooves getting polished, Scootaloo agrees and spins a wild, but truthful, tale of how she earned her cutie mark and wowed many ponies with her totally, awesome moves on the scooter she still rides to this day.

As she paints the orange mare's hooves, Delicacy listens to the story will great interest and excitement...

**********************************************

    Now...where to begin...oh yeah!

"Let's see...it all happened some years ago...before you or your friends were even born, Delicacy. While Princess Twilight and Prince Courageous were off on Tambelon Island learning the first steps to ruling an entire kingdom and all that stuff, we...the Cutie Mark Crusaders...continued to find our cutie marks through all kinds of fun activities.

After failing to earn our cutie marks in cycling, recycling, and re-recycling...Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, Shammy, and myself were all at a loss; None us had so much as an idea to move on to next...until my awesome, big sister arrived to lend me a helping hoof.

"Hey kid," My sister said to me, "Why don't we try working on that special set of moves I once invented for you?"

"You mean the Rainbow Torpedo?" I asked, even though the obvious answer was that which Rainbow Dash has come up with that was a guarantee to help me earn my cutie mark, "But I thought we agreed I was not quite there yet."

"Ahh come on, little sis. Nothing wrong with trying at it again and again until you get it right and have yourself a well earned cutie mark as a reward." I always knew my big sister was right all the time. Okay...most of the time. But since she promised to watch over me and that we could stop the first time something goes wrong.

So...my friends and I all went to the park where the few ramps and other little obstacles were set up; Rainbow took the liberty of preparing for all this earlier that day. However, even with all my cool moves and my friends to back me up...I was still unprepared for all of this.

My first try ended in disappointment, but this time I was determined to prove myself and earn my cutie mark. With my small wings at the ready, my scooter accident free, my goggle glasses and helmet on tight...I took off like the wind and rode up the ramp and through the first few hoops...and was nearing the other side. I could feel myself flying...I just know I was.

However, my sister grabbed me before I could land; She could see that I was not going to make it. An attempt to succeed had failed once more...

"Sorry, little sis...I guess it wasn't the best time after all..."

"No!" I said firmly, "Put me down, Rainbow Dash!"

    "What?"

"Put me down! I'm going to do it again!" I cried out while holding my scooter close to me. I said to her that despite that little error, I could feel the wind in my face like never before; I knew I could do it right...if given only one more chance.

Rainbow Dash placed me back down at the starting line while watching me ever so closely, as any big sister would do for their little sister. With my focus once again set and my determination strong, I took off up the ramp once more...only this time I was flapping my wings harder than ever before. At that moment, something miraculous happened:

I was flying through the hoops while riding hard on my scooter. I could feel it then and there: My wings had finally bloomed after so long a time of being unable to fly. Even while it was still only slightly more than before, I still could not believe that my wings became stronger at that moment...and I was soaring through the hoops in a straight line; No more possible crashes for me from that point on.

Once I stuck the landing at the ram on the other side, I pushed myself harder and ended up going faster. With my sister following nearby to ensure I was safe...I kicked up the speed and rode all on through the park, performing trick after trick; Even some moves that I never knew I could do.

I, Scootaloo, became one of the greatest scooter riding fillies the likes of which Ponyville and most of Equestria had never seen before.

After a while of riding on through, I soon felt myself growing a bit tired so I turn myself around and headed straight back towards where may friends were all watching. with the ramp and rings straight ahead, I zoomed on through once more...only this time, I ducked down low and spun around in the direction of left. I was performing a perfectly envisioned "Rainbow Torpedo"...but whether or not a rainbow was actually behind me was something I never had a chance to witness...but my friends said they could swear they saw one: A rainbow that matched that of my big sister.

Once I stopped spinning and landed safely on the ground, I came to a complete stop...and was home free...and had completed that which Rainbow Dash had created for me to complete...which she said was a guaranteed, surefire trick to earn my cutie mark. And this time...she was right:

Once I removed my helmet and was showered with praise from my best friends, I felt and noticed a glow appearing around my flank. I could not believe what I was seeing...but my cutie mark...in the shape of my very own scooter...had appeared.

I had finally earned my wings, so to speak...and had discovered my very special talent that would remain with me for the years to come.

*****************************************

"Wow..." The awe inspired little filly named Delicacy mutters once the story of how Scootaloo earned her cutie mark reaches it's end, "That was an amazing story, Ms. Scootaloo."

"Thanks, squirt..." The proud orange mare, who's hooves are now as blue as her Wonderbolt uniform, thanks her little friend who is as much a crusader as she is, "Glad I was able to tell you of how awesome I was. Oh, and no need to call me that; Just Scootaloo will do, kiddo."

Delicacy blushes a little and gives warm smile to the teenage mare whom she is happy to have heard this tale from one of the first ever Cutie Mark Crusaders. This even gives the little unicorn the urge to ask another on how they earned their cutie marks. Specifically her Aunt Sweetie Belle.

"Um...Aunt Sweetie Belle?" Delicacy musters up her courage to ask, "After Ms....I mean...Scootaloo earned her cutie mark, did you earn yours next?"

Before the beautiful white mare can answer that, she is interrupted by the spry, young mare named Applebloom...who informs of who is was who earned their cutie mark after the daring Scootaloo, "Actually, it was ah dat earned da next cutie mark, sugarcube...and have ah got a tale ta tell about how ah discovered by special talent before we all moved out here...and when the CMC scouts were formed."

Delicacy is slightly disappointed that her Aunt's cutie mark story has not been made present yet, but will hope to hear it later after Applebloom spins her little pony tale on how she earned the flower apple on her flank.

**********************************************

Now...let me tell ya da tale of how ah earned my cutie mark:

Not long after Scoots earned her mark and we all celebrated her accomplishment, ah became as determined as ever ta be da next in line of our club dat is dedicated ta finding out who we are and discoverin' our special talents. Ah spent mah time at da farm of Sweet Apple Acres...where ah was born n' raised until we moved here ta Tambelon.

With mah family dedicated ta apples, hence our name, ah tried different with nothing but a small bucket full of green and red apples picked from da orchard that mah big sister and brother use to work in all da time. Ah would think and try something new each couple of hours to a few days.

But in de end...there was nothing but applesauce all over da place.

"Ah'm never gonna find mah special talent..." I fussed and sighed with a heavy frown upon my face. Heh, mah bow atop mah head felt heavier dat dere day as ah continued to complain...even while mah sister Applejack tried her best ta cheer me up.

"Ah, don't cha fret nothin' over dis, Applebloom. You'll discover yer special talent before ya know it...just like yer brother and me did when we were your age." Even thought she was doing her best, mah sister's words could not help ease mah worries nor help me find mah special talent before bed.

"Ah know..." I fussed like da little filly ah was, "...but ah'm tired of tryin' and just want ta get mah cutie mark now...!"

"Sorry ta burst your fuss bubble, Sugarcube...but earnin' yer cutie mark does not come overnight...unless yer willin ta stay up late and try..." The moment Applejack spoke dis is what gave me de idea ta try it...even against da house rules which happen to have an effect here on de island...even at mah current age now, "But right now, ya need ta head on up and get yerself some shuteye. Tomorrow, you and yer friends can discover your cutie marks then."

Unable ta argue with due to my age and heavy eyelids, Ah obeyed mah older sister and went on ta bed...but after hearing the mentioning of "late night crusading"...it sounded just what ah needed ta keep pushing mahself towards my destiny...which ah would continue once everypony else was asleep.

Later dat evening while everypony else was asleep, ah snuck on out of mah bedroom as quietly as ah possibly could and managed ta get out of da house without so much as waken my Granny Smith. Safe and in da wind, ah went on over to da outside picnic table of ours...with only a bowl of apples.

Ah knew mah destiny lied somewhere within those dere apples...and ah was determined ta find it before Princess Celestia's sun would rise. Until den, ah prayed fer Luna's moon and stars ta guide me.

"Now...what can ah make with apples..." Ah muttered to mahself whilst rubbin' mah hoof against da side of mah head...tryin' hard ta think and think.

With only ten apple restin' upon da table, Ah had only ten tries before ah would have ta give up:

First ah tried bite-size apples...but they ended up all messy; ah tried half smashed applesauce...and da only made it look worse; Next came different attempts dat only made a huge mess on both da table and myself. Soon, after nearly an hour of tryin'...Ah was down to mah last apple.

"Oh...please...please let dis here apple be da one..." Ah begged, wishing upon da stars demselves dat dis will be da moment Ah could finally blossom after so long a time. However, ah was gettin' sleepy and didn't think ah could hold on fer another minute. But den...dat was when it all came:

A beam of moonlight shined down from da sky directly onto a patch of flowers dat were in bloom...since it was spring around dat dere time. Ah had no idea what it meant, but ah got mahself up and went on over ta check it out. What ah saw was just some simple blossoms...dat did looks pretty and delicious.

Ah took a bite and they were pretty sweet; Nearly as sweet as da apples grown on da farm. Suddenly, it hit me da same way as da moonlight:

"Maybe if ah combined the apples and flowers into somethin' new...maybe it will make an even sweeter taste!" Ah said to mahself and picked a few and rushed on over to da table.

At dat moment, ah got to work with only the last apple ah had left. Already da ideas Ah had were pouring into mah head. Ah knew not how or why now out of all times...but when ah looked up at da moon, ah swore ah saw Princess Luna smiling down upon me; Ah wondered dere if she had helped guide me to mah destiny.

Da following mornin', mah family found me outside sleeping on da table...and they woke me gently, askin' why ah was out dere. After a great, big yawn released from my mouth, ah Applebloom showed Applejack, Big Macintosh, and Granny Smith just what ah invented last night: Apple slices with flower petals on top.

Mah family did not know what to think, but since everypony loves to eat flowers as much as apples, they each tried a slice. Ah awaited nervously for their reaction...which only happened shorty after they took the first bite: The expressions on their faces plus the sweet sounds of "Mmmmm..." filled their mouths as their remaining slices did the rest.

Ah could not believe what ah had done: Ah had discovered a new recipe and it was such a big hit dat mah family begged fer more. Ah would give them, and my best friends, much more.

Later, once Shammy, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle were all present, mah family and ah all chowed down on mah new creation ah happily named "Appleblossoms". Da taste was as sweet and delicious as if it were eatin' both an apple and flower at the same time, but one at a time. Now...it was both at once.

The moment we all finished mah delcious creation, ah felt somethin' shinin' on mah flank...and so ah turned mah head and beheld da one thin' ah had been waitin' fer so long a time: mah cutie mark...in the shape of an sliced apple with flower petals all around it; It looked like an apple flower...or an appleblossom in bloom.

From dat moment, Ah Applebloom, had earned mah cutie mark and discovered mah special talent...and it was all tanks to a little determination...and a little assistance from a special princess who was watching me from nearby...winking and smiling at me for a job well done.

***********************************

"Wow..." Delicacy replies once the story of how Applebloom earned her cutie mark comes to an end, "That was incredible; I cannot believe the great Princess Luna helped you find your cutie mark."

The yellow coated mare blushes with a smile to follow, "Well, she only pointed me in da right direction. Da rest was all on me...and dat is what helped me earn dis..." Applebloom points to the appleblossom cutie mark that she wears proudly on her flank. "Ah worked hard ta earn dis here mark...and ah could not have done it without mah friends and family."

"Aww..." Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, and Shammy all says together. They are happy as ever to have helped their best friend and leader discover her special talent on that day so long ago.

"So...who earned their cutie mark next?" The young unicorn asks to group of former Cutie Mark Crusaders...while hoping it will be her Aunt Sweetie Belle this time since Delicacy feels anxious to know how she earned the bell and music note cutie mark that rests upon her white coated flank.

"It twas I: Shammy~" The beautiful green coated mare answers as she sits up from the couch once the polish on her hooves are dry, "My story mostly revolves around how may best friends and big brother, Courageous, helped me discover my special talent shortly before we all moved to Tambelon."

While Delicacy is once more slightly disappointed to not hear her aunt's tale next, it may be interesting to hear how the Prince's sister earned her cutie mark that is that of a flute with musical notes all about it. Sitting next to Sweetie Belle, the young filly and her friends all gather round as they listen to Shammy weaving her cutie mark story...

Classy Shammy [Request] by Mythilas

********************************************

Well, it was just another day in Ponyville: The little town in Equestria that my family and I moved to no more than a year before my brother and Twilight got married. I was new at the time, but after Courageous was brought into our family, and after I joined the cutie mark crusaders, there was so much to be found in this beautiful paradise where all ponies could live in peace.

But all my stories of when I first came to Ponyville have been told already and can be saved for another time. Right now, I will move on ahead to when I was close to discovering my cutie mark.

Not too long after Courageous and Twilight moved to Tambelon, in order to receive training under Princess Celestia herself to prepare them for ruling the entire island we would soon all live on today, I spent my time with my fellow crusaders...trying ever so hard to discover my special talent.

Because my father and mother, Tap and Grace Step, are famous and talented dancers, I thought I could follow in their hoofsteps and be as best as they could be. However, despite all my attempts at keeping up and learning the moves of our family's tradition heritage, all I ended up doing was tripping and falling onto the floor.

"I'm never going to be dancer...or find my special talent," I complained with a feeling of sadness and quitting inside.

"Honey..." My beautiful and loving mother comforted me when I was sitting on the ground, "Dancing is not for everypony, but I am sure you will have the basics memorized soon enough."

"You mother is right, Shammy," My father said unto me, "Your special talent may lie in dancing or may not. Right now, the important thing is to have fun and you will discover your destiny in no time at all."

I was impatient back then, but knew my parents were right: I had to wait and just go on until my talent would soon appear before my eyes.

After all the failed, but fun, attempts to discover my talent with my best friends, the Cutie Mark Crusader, I found myself nowhere closer...and it was only a few days since both Scootaloo and Applebloom discovered their special talents. Sweetie and I were doing are best to find our own.

Because dancing was not working for me, I decided to try the magical flute my Grandmother gave to me less than a year ago. It had been in the family for generations and could never wither away thanks to the magic bestowed upon it by one of our ancestors from long ago.

I tried to play it, but I could only succeed with a few notes. I wanted nothing more than to master the flute the way my big brother did from the friends we once knew back from his younger days in the distant past. However...he was all the way on Tambelon, and I did not know when he would ever come back.

But...all that soon changed when he and his wife Twilight...my sister-in-law and the greatest foalsitter I had ever known...returned to Equestria to pay us all a visit.

With the news of many moving to Tambelon, my father and mother were offered a place in Tambelon City in addition to a greater dance academy that he would own and teach others to dance. With such a kind and generous offer, we would soon pack up and fly out to the island where I would spend my days growing up with my best friends...and the many new friends I would soon make.

During the days of packing up, Courageous and I would play again like we use to...and then that is when my cutie mark came: He and I sat down played our own flutes together. While he played his with such talent, I followed along with him...and soon felt my heart guide my blow and touch of the magical flute that I held with my hooves and my magic.

I continued to follow my brother's rhythm and style, and soon I was playing the flute as good as him...possibly even better according to him.

My friends and family all heard the sounds of our song and they all came and gathered around to listen as Courageous slowly ceased his playing in order for me to continue. Everypony was moved by my playing as was I...and that is when it appeared on my flank: A musical flute cutie mark.

I had discovered my talent on my last days in Ponyville and Equestria...and I was thankful for everypony there who witnessed my playing...including my big brother best friend forever, Courageous Heart, who was there for me and helped me achieve my special talent at long last.

"That is so beautiful, Shammy..." Delicacy confesses once her story is concluded, "You and your brother must have been very close..."

"We were...and we still are," The lovely green unicorn reveals, "It's true we do not see each other as often as we did before he rose to royalty, but all I need to know is that he is up there in that golden palace...watching out for each and every citizen that lives here on this island."

"Aww..." Delicacy admires Shammy and her big brother, who is also the Prince of Tambelon. Knowing she has a bigger sibling out there makes the young filly wonder what it would be like to have a sibling of her own, even if the chances for such may or may not happen. But for now, Delicacy is happy being an only foal and feels even happier now that it is to be her Aunt Sweetie Belle's turn to tell her tale of how she got her cutie mark...

"Uh oh..." The lovely white mare with the sweet, blissful voice says when she hears the antique clock that rests above the fireplace chime...signaling the next hour, "It is 8:00...and you know what that means, Delicacy."

"No..." The once eager-now-disappointed filly fusses once she hears that it is her bedtime, "I wanted to hear the story of how you got your cutie mark..."

Sweetie Belle feels terrible having to send her little niece to bed without having a chance to tell her story...but having her stay up late would be breaking the rules of the household and would only put her and Delicacy in trouble with both Rarity and Spike. However, the smart in addition to beautiful mare comes up with a wonderful idea that will work both ways, "How about this, Delicacy: If you allow me to tuck you into bed, I will tell you my tale as your bedtime story~"

Full of glee and joy, Delicacy squeals like the pretty little pony she is and never thought in all her life that she would be so anxious now to go to bed. But with the promise of one final tale before the night ends for her, Delicacy bids her friends a fond goodnight, with a hug from each, and rushes off to her bedroom with Sweetie following close behind.

"Goodnight, Delicacy~" Scootaloo, Applebloom, and Shammy all say together and watch as the young filly and their best friend, who is an aunt the same as they are, watch as the two head on out...leaving the three all alone to talk and other things, especially about stuff teenage mares would enjoy.

The moment the two unicorns of both filly and mare are gone and possibly far from hearing distance, the anxious pegasus digs her way through Sweetie's bag...hoping to find that which she desperately needs, "Please tell me she brought hoofpolish remover...because I CANNOT be seen at the academy like this..."

Applebloom and Shammy share a giggle as their tomboyish friend tries so hard to keep up her tough image...even though she may have to go back home tonight with blue hooves, which do happen to look good on her. Already this night has been interesting and exciting with all the stories and unexpected events that happened all thanks to a little filly named Delicacy.

*******************************************

Within her decorative bedroom that her mother designed herself, the pretty little filly named Delicacy snuggles into her bed as Sweetie Belle magically covers her little niece's body...making sure she is all comfy and warm. With a warm glass of milk to help her sleep and a story at the ready, the unicorn filly yawns a little but is ready to hear a story before dozing off into the land of dreams that Princess Luna herself watches over...even here on Tambelon.

"Will you...tell me...your story, Aunt Sweetie Belle?" Delicacy whispers as she lays in her bed with her head resting on her feathery pillow, watching as her favorite aunt sits in a small chair by her bedside.

"Of course, darling. As I promised, I will spin my tale of how my cutie mark first appeared..."

It all happened some time after my family and friends all moved on out to Tambelon Island. It was difficult to be in a new land, but because all of my friends would be joining me in this new kingdom far from Equestria, it would be a whole new beginning with those I love by my side forever.

Even though I was the last of the Cutie Mark Crusaders to earn her cutie mark...mine was considered to be the most important since it would later help our little club get recognized and later transformed into a Scout unit for all the young fillies and colts who wish to work together in order to discover their special talents and make new friends along the way: The CMC Scouts.

We never knew how much our lives would change that day; Already moving to a new kingdom was a big change, but it would turn out for the best since it helped us spread our club into something much bigger that it would soon become famous worldwide.

One day inside the city of Tambelon, in the midst of when many were arriving to set up their new lives here or in the various places around the island, my best friends and I were playing in the park area. While Scootaloo, Shammy, and Applebloom were tossing a ball around, I suddenly felt so in touch with my surroundings: The trees, the wind, and the sight of gold all around just made me stand upon a nearby rock...and sing my heart away.

"We are the Cutie Mark Crusaders!"
"On a quest to find out who we are!"
"And we will never stop the journey!"
"Not until we have our Cutie Marks!"

While I have always been told that I have such an amazing voice, I never had the chance to sing out in public because I got stage fright. However, because my eyes were closed, I knew not of the crowd of ponies and others all gathering around to listen to me sing the Cutie Mark Crusader theme song.

I just sang my heart out without care and was not paying attention to the crowd that was sitting or standing as they watched me sing with such a voice that most would say is as beautiful as the Light itself. Eventually when I stopped and opened my eyes, my cheeks turned a bright red and I was so scared...even as the various new citizens were applauding me.

It took me a while to let the embarrassing feeling brush over me, but soon I felt so happy and proud of what would soon follow next: A chance to sing infront of all of Tambelon; To give every pony and creature inspiration in this new world that they will all work hard together to build and maintain. My chance to rise into fame the same way my sister did not too long before, had finally come.

A few nights later, everypony had come to the Tambelon Theater to hear me sing for all. All prettied up and in a lovely dress, courtesy of my big sister Rarity, I walked out onto the stage and could see many lights, ponies, and plenty of applauding to be heard.

I stumbled a little on my entrance, but pulled off not falling over. Once I stood at the microphone, I gulped nervously and was feeling stage fright again. Failure for sure was upon me...

However, once I saw my family in the front row...plus all my other friends and family who all came to watch me sing...I felt my confidence rise. With a deep breath of fresh air filling my lungs, and at the moment the orchestra began, I let my voice sing out for all to hear.

That was the most magical moment of my life that I would never forget to even this day. Not to mention all that would follow: A career where my amazing voice would be heard by all, the Cutie Mark Crusaders becoming discovered and transformed into a scouting unit, and the most important of all:

"Your cutie mark!~" Delicacy finishes the story as she looks down upon the little pink bell with notes all around it that rests upon the flank of her wonderful Aunt Sweetie Belle.

The young mare smiles down at her little niece and kisses her forehead, "That's right, my favorite little niece~" Sweetie whispers and finishes tucking Delicacy into bed, while letting her drink her warm milk to help her sleep, "Well, that is my story of how I earned my cutie mark, became one of the most famous singers in all of Tambelon, and helped form the CMC scouts that I am proud to see you and all your little friends apart of."

Once Delicacy finishes her milk and places it onto her nightstand, she smile and wipes her mouth with a small cloth that her aunt happens to have on her for such an occasion, "Thank you so much for telling me your story, Aunt Sweetie Belle. I learned so much today from you and your friends...and will have lots to tell my friends and fellow crusaders come our next meeting."

"That is so wonderful, Delicacy. I promise that my friends and I will be there next meeting...since I believe whatever you will have to say on what you have discovered...should be heard by us all."

The young, purple unicorn blushes and gives her aunt one last hug before she will drift off to sleep. Whatever happens come the next CMC meeting at their headquarters within the golden city of Tambelon, Delicacy is happy to have learned an important lesson that she will soon share with all her friends...and carry with her in the future when she begins to aim for her cutie mark.

********************************************

The following weekend, after much school and homework that has been somewhat of a pain to get through, The young fillies and colts all gather at the Cutie Mark Crusader Headquarters for their weekly meetings. With their merit badge sashes and hats all upon them, along with a scroll holding their assignments on the history of cutie marks, everypony is ready for a wonderful afternoon/evening with their best friends.

After some snacks and fun conversations, Scoutmaster Marshall gathers her troop into the auditorium where everypony can watch and listen as each crusader will have the chance to come up onto the stage and speak forth to what they have discovered. However, most seem to be nervous going up...especially when the four CMC Founders are present; It's understandable if most feel embarrassed to speak in front of everypony...but somepony will need to speak up soon.

Just then, one filly raises her hoof and speaks up, "I will go first!~"

Everypony is surprised to see Delicacy wishing to be the first up there on stage, but feel this may be interesting since she is known to have stage fright sometimes. They watch as she hops out of her seat and up onto the stage where all can see her.

Once the little filly arrives at the podium, she places her scroll with all that she has written on it atop and turns her attention to all her fellow crusaders, her Scoutmaster and other leaders, and finally her aunt and all her friends who helped give her the inspiration to stand where she is now.

Delicacy gives a warm smile to her favorite aunt and friends, and speaks loud enough for all to hear as she begins her short speech with a lesson she has learned this day:

"To all my fellow Cutie Mark Crusaders,"

"Today, I have learned an important lesson: While many of us may think that the present and future is all that matters, we must never forget the past and what it once held. Because there are many things to learn from the histories of times long ago and the lessons each of them may hold."

"This past week I learned much from the stories of a very special relative of mine and her best friends: The events that helped guide them to find their cutie marks...and the friendship that they held within their hearts through it all."

"So, in conclusion, I realized that understanding the history of those who have earned their cutie marks before us can help us discover endless possibilities towards discovering our own special talents. The past, present, and future hold much to be discovered...and as long as we stick together as fellow crusaders and friends...then our destinies will be found as bright as a rainbow may glow and the Light may shine."

    "Your friend and crusader, Delicacy."

Once the young filly concludes her speech, a round of applause is given to her motivational words that have given all these young Cutie Mark Crusaders a new insight to learning the history of the cutie mark and those that have earned them in the past generation...whether family, friend, or otherwise.

Delicacy blushes and smiles to how her best friends and crusaders all praise her for a job well done. Even Scoutmaster Marshall herself applauds by stomping her hooves onto the stage where she stands.

But out of all who stand and cheer for this young filly and the lesson she has learned this week on both history and friendship, nopony cheers the loudest and greatest than Sweetie Belle and her best friends Applebloom, Shammy, and Scootaloo. They have never been prouder of their little friend who has learned so much...and it is all thanks to the stories they have told of their past experiences that led to discovering their cutie marks.

In the eyes of the four Founding Crusaders, Delicacy and her friends will always continue to have many fun adventures, and somewhere along that road...one by one...they will soon discover their special talents and graduate as Grand Crusaders. As long as they stick together as the original Cutie Mark Crusaders did, they will surely find that which they seek in addition to what they have already found not too long ago:

    The Magic of Friendship.
