And Thank you so much! I hope you will enjoy the new stories to come in the next month
I've been following your work for awhile now and I was surprised to see you visit the Flash Sentry Fan Club. I'm glad to hear you're not a Flashbasher, personally I'm open to all pairings and it annoys me when anyone thinks their choice of pairing should be the one and only for that character. Surely there's enough room in the MLP fandom for all our stories and artwork.
When I first founded the group I requested your commissions of Flash vs Courageous from keekoi but they're about to expire with no action taken. That's a shame, they're really good Flash Sentry pieces and I'd love to have them in the collection.
It's good to know you'll keep your stories going, we're all Twilight Sparkle fans after all.
Second, you sure seem a tad jealous 8/
Third, where does it officially say he isn't coming back? Apparently he's canon now.
Fourth, that's really rude to go on about how much better you think your oc is compared to another character.
Fifth, Twilight Sparkle isn't your character and it's not for you to decide what she does. If the writers want to give her a love interest, then they have every right to do so.
Going as far as to blame Megan or Hasbro for "ruining" the show is really daft, at the end of the day it belongs to them so they can do whatever they please with the show, like with any children's show, it's goal is to sell toys not appease the fandom (sure nods to the fandom are present but that's because bronies have cash and will happily buy their pony toys giving Hasbro more cash). Yes season 4 has had *too many* fandom nods but that's all this season seems to be about (that and finding keys) so his presence is probably just a nod to equestria girls.
It doesn't really matter if Flash shows up again, you have your own little universe where Twilight ends up with your oc so the canon appearance of Flash as a background non speaking character really shouldn't matter to you that much. So his presence reappearing in the show hasn't "ruined" anything for you. At the end of the day deal with it, speaking as a Naruto Oc owner of 7 years (5 story re-writes, character revamps- worth it) I'm sure your oc and all the time you've spent on him and his story matter to you more than a 10 second non speaking cameo.
But anyway this is my 20pence on the matter.
I personally don't like Flashes character, he has very little piss-poor development and Equestria girls could have functioned fine without him, and so I don't think this cameo means anything; because if you notice Twilight didn't react to his presence only Cadence, so I think this cameo was slipped in solely for the Bronies, which is what this season appears to be about.
Seriously, don't let the cameo bother you just continue with your story and your characters. You enjoy writing your story and you have fans that enjoy your story, surely that's more important than some slipped in fan service?
I'll apologise in advance incase I seemed mean or if I've said anything to upset you
I wouldn't expect you to, canon or not. I know as a writer I tend to be nitpicky about what is or is not canon, but I'm fond of "the author never said it didn't happen" violations , and I'll violate canon more blatantly than that if it works for my plot.
And I generally have no trouble with non-canon fanfics when I'm reading them.
Case in point: I'd written out my Sonic fics years before I got my hands on the official encyclopedia and found out the names of assorted wives. I already had a major OC as one of the wives throughout one story, and once I got the official info... I rewrote one single chapter and created another oneshot to allow both versions to be possible... and I only did that much because I wanted to.
And in my Pony fics... well, I'm certainly not going to eliminate OCs like my Swift Shade if Hasbro decides to give us some version of Luna's history that makes him impossible.
That being said, I haven't seen the episode with the Flash cameo, but as a fan of the show, I have yet to see a problem allowing an official relationship with him or any canon character while writing the fanfic relationship with your OC.
